Mine was broken for me at the hospital.

Yes it broke on its own. I was 9 or 10 cm and in the birthing tub. People ask how I knew but I felt a pop.

Both times on its own, but the 2nd time around a portion of it wasn't broken and was stalling my labor, so part of my sac had to be broken at the hospital.

Broke on its own sometime right before/during transition. I got out of the hospital bed to labor on the ball and felt a trickle down my leg and knew it was my water. The nurse didn't believe me :-/. Then I had gushes all during the rest of my labor. Really weird feeling.

Yep. Although both times I was in the shower and didn't feel anything, just knew the bag was gone at the next check. I hope I feel it this time, although I would also prefer that it would wait until right at full dilation, haha.

It was broken by the obgyn with G & it broke on it's own when I was pushing with P.

Mine was accidentally broken during a check, I'd been told that it was very "bulgy" and would happen any minute. I was disappointed that it didn't feel as cool as I thought it would, lol!

Broken at the hospital! I went into labor the day of my csection! They wanted to move me along so they broke it for me. I ended up with a csec anyways lol.

Broke on its own in a movie-like gush while getting ready for our past pre-baby date night. Labor didn't start for a few more hours.

@rattles: Same! It was a huge gush and I didn't have any contractions before that. Just like the movies!

It was broken in the hospital by the doc at about 7-8 cm.

I dropped a pen, bent over to pick it up and felt a pop! Decent sized gushes happened, and about 2 hours later contractions started. I swear he ran out of room in there!

Mine broke during active labor, on it's own. Huge gush! I don't remember a whole lot about my labor, but I remember that part! So weird feeling.

Neither option applies. Mine broke on its own but there wasn't even a trickle. LO was so low and engaged that nothing came out. My doc tried to break my water when I was ready to push and found that it was already broken. All my fluid came out behind the baby.

Broke on its own while we were in the tub, at our birth center. I had cervidil inserted for about 90 minutes at that point, though.

It was broken the first two times, both at 8-9 cm
The third time the Dr was on her way up just after my epi and it broke on it's own, So weird feeling, I never thought it would!
My contractions increased in pain ten fold each time. -
It broke on its own before any contractions or anything else. It gushed then trickled. I went through a few pairs of pants before getting to the hospital.
I wasn't expecting anything as it was 13 days before my due date.
