Mine broke before contractions started with #1, and broke on it's own at 6 cms with #2.

I was induced. Doc tried to break my water manually, and it didn't work. (And it didn't feel great either, let me tell you!)
It finally broke when I sat up for my epidural hours later.

With all 3 of mine it had to be broken. I really hoped for it to go on its own the last time just for the experience, but it wasn't meant to be:)

Yes, a doctor had to come in and break it for me when I was already 10cm dilated. If I had known you could deliver in the sac, I might have been tempted to try it - seems kind of cool!

Mine broke while I was laying in bed at the hospital. I rolled over and felt/heard a "pop" followed by a tidal wave.

Nope, it broke on it's own. I was about 6cm and had just gotten to the hospital. I thought I had to pee so I went to the bathroom to change into the gown and pee and instead, my water broke.

Mine broke on its own! So weird to go to the hospital feeling like you were peeing on yourself.

Mine broke on its own...right over the toilet! Contractions started 4 minutes after. DD was born 11 hours later.

My doc went to break it before I pushed and couldn't feel any fluid. She actually scratched LO's head with the tool!! Turns out by the time my water broke her head was so low and engaged that it corkscrewed my vagina. All the water rushed out behind the baby when I delivered!

Mine broke in bed...and I left a trail to the bathroom where I got the Poise pad I was saving for that reason. LMBO! It worked!

I'd say no for both even though I had it broken with G... With P it broke during pushing & since I've seen babies that were born in the caul I think it most cases it doesn't *need* to be.

Mine broke on its own once my induction was on its way, at about 6 cm. I thought it was so cool.

I don't know! I don't remember if they broke it or not. I was induced.
