We are looking to get the Hemnes dresser for baby number two. I am curious, what is the difference between the white and white stain dresser? We are considering a crib from there too (however, I desperately want a Jenny Lind crib if baby is a girl).

I have that dresser in white and love it. Our coffee table is white stain which is stained wood. So, the coffee table shows more variations, whereas the white dresser is a more polished look. The white stain nicks and chips much easier, and I will stick to white in the future. Let me know if you want more pics. These aren't the best, just what's on my phone,

@dc yoga bee: thank you! That was perfect! Does the white match other white furniture??

The white is made of mostly particle board and the white stain is made mostly of solid pine.

@ladybee: You're welcome! our crib is Catalina 4 in 1 from pottery barn in white. DH thinks it's pretty much the same. The crib is smooth finish like the crib. Stained white you can see wood grain and would not match. So, it depends on crib finish I would say, but white will probably match better.

We have the white stain and I wish we had gotten the white. You can see detail of the wood, but really just looks like a crappy paint job. The dresser finish feels more fragile. We got the stain be that's the only white that the twin bed came it.

We have the dresser in white stain. I like the look of it better than the regular white. You can see the wood grain. The regular white looks plastic-y to me
