for my first i never got checked prior to my water breaking. but after my water broke at 37w5d, i was at 4cm.

for my second, i was checked at 37w and i was already at 4-5cm dilated, almost fully effaced. ended up delivering a week later at 38 w.

i had short cervix issues with my 2nd so that was a big part of why i was already dilated and effaced but it ended up not mattering i guess and i delivered after i did with my first.

With #1, I was 4 cm dilated at 39 weeks and was induced a week later at 40 weeks. When I checked in I was almost 5 cm and hadn't had a single contraction.

I never had a check with #2 until I checked in when I was in active labor, at which point I was 6-7 cm dilated (in active labor). This was at 38+5.

With my third I was checked at 38 weeks and was almost 4 cm and she was born later that night.

1st - dilated 1-2 cm around 37 weeks. I was 4 cm at my doctors office the day before my water broke at 39+4.

2nd - last appointment was in my 36th week and I wasn't dilated at all. Water broke at 37+2 and I was 4 cm by the time I got to the hospital.

Second pregnancy didn't make a difference for me. I was 1 cm at 39 weeks both times. DD1 came at 39+5 and DD2 at 40+5. I went into labor on my own both times. I got a membrane sweep with my second that did nothing. The second labor was much faster once it started though, which sort of makes up for that extra week I suppose.

I had an appointment at 9am the day I went into labor and wasn't dilated at all with my first (at +3 days). I went into labor at 10pm that night. I'm 36 weeks pregnant now with my second, but my office doesn't check until your due date.

For my first, I was 2-3cm dilated for almost two weeks. I ended up being induced at 41 +1 and when they started the induction, I was told I was almost 4. Didn't matter bc after 24 hours, i got stuck at 9 and had to have surgery.

For my second, at my 38 week check up, the midwife said I was like not even a half a cm dilated. I ended up having the baby later that night

I was induced at 40 weeks with #1.
With #2, I was never checked for dilation before I went into labor. I had her at 38+5 and was dilated to a 6 when I arrived at the hospital.
With #3, I was dilated to a 3 at 37 weeks, and she was born a couple days later!

LO1- maybe 1/2 cm when checked hours after my water broke at 35 weeks, had to be induced from there
LO2- 1/2-1 cm at 36 weeks, my water broke a few hours later
Basically, my cervix stays nice and closed, my water just breaks for some reason

@runnerd: 40w0d with my son, went into labor the day before with dripping water. Now I'm guessing this was prodromal labor, anyway they augmented me, I was 0.5cm and 80%.
from 2cm to pushing was probably about 17-24 hours.

With my daughter, 40w5d I was 2cm, had been in prodromal labor for 5 days. She never said how effaced. I arrived at the hospital 16 hours after that checkup and was 10cm and pushing.... No clue how long I was at 2cm.

My 1st I was dilated 1cm and 80% effaced at 40+3 when I went into labor spontaneously.
With my 2nd I was almost 4 cm and 80% effaced when they induced me at 40weeks. So I was a lot more dilated and it made me progress in labor faster but it didn't make me go into labor.

I was 2.5 cm dilated 10% effaced two days before my water broke with LO1. I was 3.5-4cm and like 50% effaced for like 4 days before I went into labor with LO2.
