I'm leaning toward the Rainier for DD2 when we transition her into a convertible carseat. I like that I won't need to buy a new one until she's in a no-back booster!
Does anyone who owns this have any pros/cons that I may not be aware of? We have a large car - Toyota Highlander - and only two carseats in the back, so I don't need to fit 3 across or anything.

I have a Radian RXT for DD1 and love it. I plan on getting the same for DD2. I believe @mrskc has one of each.

I haven't researched the Rainier, but we have a RXT and its been great! We have traveled with it once by plane. Loved the folding feature, but it was pretty darn heavy.

I have a Radian for DS and a Rainer for DD. I didn't really mean to end up with one of each. lol for some reason thought the rainer was the new version of radian.
The only difference I can tell is the the rainer is wider on the top section. Like it has more side impact cushion. I have a Chevy Traverse and I have DS's Radian behind the passenger and DD's Rainer is in the middle. There's plenty of room for someone to sit behind the driver.
Also, the seats are really tall so they take up a lot of space. We use the angle adjuster for DS's seat which helps it not lean back so much.

We have a ranier for my son (2.5 years) and still use it rear-facing (with an angle adjuster) in the back seat of my husband's Tacoma. He's tall so I wanted something with a high rear facing height limit. The only downside that I've read about on Car Seats for Littles is that it is usually outgrown as a forward facing harness and high back booster at the same time, so it won't get much/any use as a booster if you keep your child harnessed to the limits. I guess it just depends on how strict you are with car seat practices, like rear facing until they outgrow limits, harnessed until they outgrow that, etc.
