I think sometimes writing the song lyrics is the way to get your emotions out. It's really hard for some people to talk out their emotions, so they use their art to say what is on their heart.

Thats just strange.

I don't think she needs to explain further . . . sometimes talking about a situation has the effect of making people to re-live it, and in so doing, they feel traumatized all over again.

I think if you're going to make a song about it then you better be ready to talk about it. Just logically, I wouldn't tell a woman who is experiencing abuse that I know how that feels & then act like it's none of her business to know how... I'm the one that brought it up.

@mrbee: By acting like she never even mentioned it. As a musician, it should be common sense that if you make a song intended for the world to hear, you *will* get questions about it. To brush it off and not want to talk about it makes me feel like "why wouldn't you just write the song to vent and then keep it for yourself?" now she has to sing it onstage everynight, which I imagine is more painful than talking about it once?

@MrsTiz: I guess we just disagree then. I don't think of privacy as an "all or nothing" proposition. Just because she's a musician and wrote a song about it, I don't think she has to necessarily answer all of our questions about the song and the issues that were raised.

I think that over time, she may very well open up about the details when she is ready. It sounds like maybe that show with Wendy Williams wasn't the time or place for her... for now, maybe she's a musician expressing herself, like @Dandelion: mentioned?

Maybe she wasn't prepared to say anything about it on Wendy William's show. It might have taken her off guard, or she was in an emotional state that she felt she couldn't talk about it.

I dunno, usually, the questions are submitted beforehand, so the guest has time to prepare.
