I'm always the LAST person to jump on the bandwagon but I just finished the first book in the series and am halfway thru the 2nd. I'm excited for the movie! I haven't seen any trailers. Any fans think it will/won't be good?? I'm mainly excited to list over Theo James. Swoon. No, I'm not 16....but I have eyes! 
Btw there aren't enough shirtless photos of him online. Must fix that.

The books are SO GOOD, though the 3rd book gets really mixed reviews - people either hate the way it ended or they're ok with it. I can't wait for the movie, although I can't quite figure out if they're doing one book at a time? Some of the scenes from the trailer make me feel like they're doing the whole series in the one movie...

@littlebug: I'm more intrigued for the 3rd book now! I need to watch a trailer. I thought I heard they're doing each one separately, I hope that's the case bc there's a lot of detail that would be easily lost if they condensed it! I think the books have enough notoriety they could get the three made but who knows!

My middle schoolers are really into this trilogy. Most disliks the 3rd book (the ending mostly). I'm not a big fan of Shalene Woodley (spelling) so I probably won't even see the movie. She also ruined Fault in our Stars for me.

@Anagram: I'm not a fan of that actress either! But I'm going to see the movie. I don't have high hopes for it though.
I really enjoyed Divergent, but I didn't love the last book (I actually didn't mind the ending - it was everything else in that book that I didn't like).

i LOVED the first book and am excited for the movie! i only wish it was theo and jlaw, oh well.
i thought the second book was okay, and disliked the third. same as @Adira - the ending didn't bother me, but most of the other parts of that book were pretty poorly written IMO. left a sour note to what could have been an amazing triology!

I am still working on the first book (after my 14-year-old godchild insisted) but honestly it's SO graphic at times I can't take it. I guess I am a wimp because it's not bad, I've read and seen much worse. But my mommy side comes out and this book really disturbs me in some way....

I am bumping this thread because I just saw the movie and loved it and was wondering what you ladies thought! I must confess that I haven't read the book yet, which is very unlike me, but probably made it easier to enjoy the movie since I wasn't nitpicking how they translated it from the book. Just bought it tonight so I can read it too.
And OMG @babyjmama: Theo James is totally a reason to be excited to see it! Holy crap, I had no idea who he was before seeing this movie and he is totally my new crush! And he's 29, so I don't think you need to be 16 to like him I thought Shailene Woodley did a great job too.

I actually thought the movie was really good!! Shailene Woodley is a better actress than I realized, haha. I thought she was going to be JUST like her character in Secret Life, but nope, she wasn't! I was impressed. And Theo James is soooooooo hot. My girlfriend and I were just ogling him the entire time.
Anyone know how well it did? Are they working on the next movie? I'm curious if they'll stick to the story for the third movie since the third book was kind of meh.

@Adira: They're working on the next movie and just announced that the third book will be split into 2 parts - which isn't that surprising, seems to be the trend lately with book-to-movie adaptations. My best friend is afraid to see it because she's only ever seen Shailene in Secret Life and is sure she's going to ruin it - I keep telling her to give it a chance, she's a heck of a lot better in movies (The Descendants, The Spectacular Now, etc.) than she was in that crap TV show (that I was addicted to...so I don't think she trusts my judgement. I suppose I understand why, bahaha!)
And OMG so hot! My DH is not the type to ever comment on it if he thinks a famous woman is attractive because he feels like it's not respectful to me, so I kept my mouth shut...but damn.

@wonderstruck: Oh good, glad to hear it! I'll definitely watch the next movie too! And I'm not surprised they are splitting the third book into two movies, although I'm not sure it has a good splitting point. Guess we'll see!
And I was addicted to Secret Life too, but I HATED Shailene's character, which is why I was sooooo nervous to see her in Divergent! But she was good! Of course, I was staring at Theo James the whole time, so...

It was a great movie, I actually would go see it again! And I'm totally on board with Theo James...OMG I was like a giddy school girl, now he's a lead character I can get into. The tats, the body, those eyes...swoon.

I also read all of the books and went to see the movie. I actually really liked it. And I"m not one to go gaga over a hollywood guy but I could NOT take my eyes off of Theo James! He's not really my normal type either. Sorry DH!
I hate that they're only doing one movie a year. I feel like I'll forget the books when the new ones come out. And I'm curious to see how they do the 3rd book and make them good b/c I think we can all agree that it wasn't the best book.
