Most of ours rent. But that's likely due to the area we live in.

Rent. My friends who are home owners live in other states or outside of the city.

I'd say own, but a lot are living in smaller co-ops and waiting till children to move to a house. We're in the minority of starting out in our forever home and it's mostly b/c we didn't want to wait too long to have kids.

we're 50/50, but we're only 25-26. We still have some friends who are still in their doctorate programs.

50/50...for the most part, DHs friends own, mine rent. It's mostly based on age, DH is 31 and I'm 25.

Most of our friends have mortgages. I don't know anyone who isn't eligible for AARP membership who actually owns their home.

Almost all own. But we're in our late 20s/early 30s in Ohio suburbs… owning is kind of the norm here because rentals suck after college.

Own! But we also live in the suburbs of a large city, and we're in our 30s, so most of our friends are around us in the burbs where your dollar goes a lot further.

It's about 50/50.
Our friends who are still in grad school and/or live in a city rent, those who have been out of school for a while generally live in the 'burbs and own. We're both turning 30 this year.
