We had this problem too. DS had really longer tight tight curly hair and we LOVED it, however he would always get called a girl...even when dressed completely like a boy and I would correct people that he was in fact a boy, they would still say "she". It got really annoying and we finally got him his first hair cut around 22 months. We HATED the hair cut because his curls were gone, but now his hair is growing into a nice curly shag again I think people, especially the older generation, equate curls with girls.

An old lady once said to me "look how cute he is" when M was wearing a headband with a huge sparkly flower on it. I just stared at her.

LO always gets called a boy...even when she's dressed in "girl" colors like pink and lavender. We've tried headbands but she rips them off. Plus, she has a boy's name so we just gave up.

I don't understand people LOL If there is any question in my mind, I just say "Oh what a cutie!" and leave it at that

Not really, but that's only because I haven't really taken DD anywhere yet. I kinda think she looks a little boyish though - she looks EXACTLY like her dad... kinda freaks me out sometimes. She'd better hurry up and get some hair!!

Now that LO is older everyone knows she's a girl. She always has a bow in her hair and usually has some sort of pink on. Plus she has girly hair now.

When she was a baby she had a mohawk and I think that was the cause of everyone thinking she was a boy. No matter how much pink I put on her she was called a "he." My niece has the same problem. She's bald but was dressed in all pink and a man said to me, "he's a cutey." Babies don't always have hair. It does not make them boys!
