I like email and prefer it to texting. One of my younger friends (I'm 35, she's 25) rarely checks her email. I emailed her a time-sensitive message last week and it took her several days to get back to me because she hasn't checked her email. Is this a generational thing, with younger people not using email?

I'm 25, and I check my email several times per day. I get it on my phone, so maybe that's part of it?

I check my email everyday, more than once a day infact. It's still a good way to reach me. I'm 27. Everyone I know around my age (20-30) still emails, and they have their email hooked up to their smart phones so it's hard to miss a message by days.
I think texting is good for quick communications, but not so good in every situation (longer messages, invitations to parties, ect). It's also the best way to receive newsletter subscriptions or deals from online stores.

My friend who is 29 says she never checks her email. She will texts/WhatsApp or FB message her friends.

When I was mentoring a teen girl we always texted. I had to text her to let her know I e-mailed her because she rarely checked her e-mail.

I'm 31 and I check my e-mail a lot during the day but my friend that's 38+ rarely check her e-mail (like maybe once a week).

I was talking to an agent in my office today who is 23. She told me none of her friends check their email. It's all texting and FB.

I check it at least 10x a day! But not my work email, I only check that when I'm actually at work.

My best friend, also 30, doesn't check her e-mail as much though. She texts more. Or if she does get e-mail notifications on her phone, she finds them a pain to respond to using her phone and then forgets to reply.

I check my email daily! It's also connected to my phone which helps. I'm sure if it wasn't, I probably wouldn't check it as often unless I was expecting something via email.

@Katrocap: @Mrs. Sunshine: it is a messaging client like IM. It works over a cellular data plan so it is cheaper for me, since I don't have a text plan and I have unlimited data. I guess you aren't one of the 400 million users
FB acquired the company this year.

I check my email daily (I'm 29) when I'm at work, I rarely check my email on the weekends though, maybe once a day/weekend. Mot of my friends text or FB message time sensitive things.

I text more than email since I am never at a computer and I don't like to write long emails on my phone.

My email goes straight to my phone so I always have access. The only thing is I can't access my work email at home as its protected so I only get 3 days a week where i cam check that.
