Oh no! I got a pedicure a few years ago and apparently I had a small plantar wart on my foot after getting back from our honeymoon. A few of the ladies in the salon told me to wrap it in duck tape. They said it really loud and everyone else looked really grossed out. I wouldn't have gotten a pedicure if I knew I had a wart on my foot!! Ick.

When I got my nails done for my wedding the lady told me that I must not work because my nails looked like princess nails. I kept them long, I'm an artist so I use my hands/nails a lot, but I still manage to keep them nice. I still thought that wasn't nice to say, accusing me of just sitting on my tushy all day long.

Now it's the opposite when (if) I go. But my friend does my eyebrows at least so we can joke about it.....

@Ladyfingers: YES! I have dancer's feet (even though I don't dance anymore) and am extremely prone to callouses. I have gotten similar comments about *so much skin*. But yanno, I say whatevs, because I tip really well, so that's that!

One time, one of the little ladies ran her finger across a very faint scar in the middle of my forehead and said "you very very pretty girl . . . why you not get this fixed?" What do you say to that? So I just said "I'm too sexy for my scar." : /

@mrsjazz: I hate when they ask if I want my eyebrows or mustache done when I am just getting a pedicure. I know they are just trying to get more business but I said I wanted a pedicure only already!

I think they are fishing for tips, trying to make sure you know how hard they have worked. I wouldn't take it personally

I definitely wouldn't take it personally. I know alot of people who work in salons and they've had people give them a 2 dollar tip to split up between the person that did their manicure, predicure and waxing.

Bahahaha. My friend and I went to get pedicures when she visited a while back, and went to an asian salon where the ladies don't speak english very well. Neither of us had had one in a very very long time and the ladies who did our pedicures were talking to eachother (in their language) and laughing, pointing at our feet, and showing eachother our foot skin gratings. I would have been mortified if my friend didnt have the same thing -- we just laughed. I haven't been back there for a pedicure though!!

@mrsjazz: that was what i was going to say as well!!! every time i get my brows done, they say "lip too?" i have blonde hair, so i KNOW i have a little fuzz on my lip (and the rest of my face), but if i wanted to get the lip done too, i would ask.

@Smurfette: @maybebaby: @REESE: Ha! I'm glad I'm not the only mustachioed lady getting called out in the salon. I always think of Eddie Murphy's Raw where he talks about "hairy goonie goo-goos."

@mrsjazz: I know! especially when I know it is just light hairs but they always do the graze over with the finger .. this too??
