I don't, but I'm wondering if I should.... If I add pineapple I usually pour some of the juice over the salad, but that's about the extent of it. You?

no, but I've had some with lime juice and mint, and that was interesting.

Nope, I prefer it without and if there is fruit dip on the side I won't complain

Not usually! But I did do a dressing of honey and lime juice once and that was super yummy!

@Smurfette: haha i've not tried that but it sounds delicious! I haven't made fruit dip in a long time but I think the last one I did was a mix of cream cheese, sugar, whipped cream, and amaretto.

Depending on the fruit I might put honey and lime. A lot of people put some lemon or lime juice to keep fruit from browning, then you need some sugar to keep it from being too tart.

Vanilla pudding mix. Just the powder, and I add the juice from one of the kinds of canned fruit so that it mixes in. Delicious! It's probably a total white trash thing, but it's soooo good

No juice or dressing or dip, but sometimes I will toss in shredded mint.

Yes! I just made a delicious fruit salad for my birthday party that included lime juice, powdered sugar, and mint. It was so tasty!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: yum!!! I love basil and mint with fruit salad!
I like it plain but I'm very interested to try it out the vanilla pudding mix. @grizz: do you do the vanilla pudding mix with canned fruit or fresh or both?
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
Usually not, but sometimes I like to throw some lime and just a wee bit of honey if there are a lot of berries or other tart fruit.

@sandy: A mix! I usually do all fresh except mandarin oranges and pineapple, and I leave the pineapple juice.

MIL puts a poppyseed dressing on it that is pretty good. I don't usually put any dressing on mine.

Not usually, but I tried @grizz: 's dry pudding trick once for a party and it was a hit

@grizz: @Anya: ok I'm going to try it! We have 2 BBQs this weekend so I'll try it out!

@sandy: I used all fresh fruit except peaches, and I didn't drain the peaches all the way so there would be a little extra liquid for the powder to stick to

Haha thanks ladies I'm glad it's not just me!
@grizz: The vanilla pudding mix actually sounds really good!

Yeah I could try the pudding mix! My mil makes a boiled sugar syrup. I just hate it so much and it's so mushy and sweet
