I find myself buying so much stuff for DD from the boys section at Carters lol. I think it all works for a girl still, I just in general like more neutral/muted outfits rather than frilly girly things.
Do you have some things in LO's wardrobe meant for the opposite sex?

DD has plenty of shirts from the boys section! But she wears a lot of pink, too.

I think it is easier to buy boy stuff for girls than the other way around. I don't have any girl stuff for lo, but I plan on keeping plenty of his stuff for baby sister.

DD has the Brown Bear baseball tee from Gymboree, but generally she wears girls clothing.

I buy my son girl clothes all the time and my girl will be wearing any seasonally appropriate things from my sons wardrobe no matter their intended gender.

Nope I only buy boy stuff. But if we have a girl next I'll reuse a lot of what we already have.

No, I never venture into the girls' section. I dress LO in pretty much the same thing every day for daycare, double-knit pants/shorts with a long-sleeved/short-sleeved onesie, I always want him to be comfortable!

@pui: I love LO in darker colours/"boy" colours - I think they're pretty on her. That being said, I end up buying quite a few things from the boys section.
If I had a boy, I don't know if I'd venture into the girl's section, because a lot of it seems too frilly. But as far as fit goes - I've heard sometimes 'girl' pants fit tall/lean boys better!

Most of LOs clothes has been boys. I finally got her some girl stuff for 2T. She's sandwiched between two boy cousins, all born the same season and I've been cheap.

Well I haven't had to buy much for her (so many hand-me-downs, we are so so blessed) so when I do buy for her it's usually for special occasions and I get swept up in all the frills. Besides, from what I can tell by her personality, she won't allow the frilly things for long

Most of the time my little dude is in boy's cloths but has had a shirt here and there from the girl's department. His younger sister will be in a lot of boys cloths though

Most of the time yeah, but I've gotten him bottoms from the girls' section. I also saw a snowflake sweater in the Girls' section at Carter's a few weeks ago that I'll probably get him

@Mrs. Lion: agreed about harder to dress a boy in girls' clothing than the other way around.
i know it buys into a lot of gender stereotypes but that's the reality for me.
i did accidentally buy girls' pants for LO at a consignment sale--only noticed the little bow and pink stitching at the bottom after i got home. that doesn't count though.

I have friends who shop in the girls section of Osh Kosh for their boys because Osh Kosh makes their clothes for girls so tight. It works on skinnier boys.
I will buy boy stuff for my lo. I like the boy shirts at Carters and I'll buy boy sweatpants. Girl sweatpants are too tight.

We don't know what we're having, but everything we've bought thus far has been boys. The girls section seems to require that everything looks like it was made out of a unicorn and then dusted with extra glitter and bling. I wouldn't dress myself like that, no way I'll dress my kid like that.
A friend joked the other day that there's an astonishing Venn diagram overlap between drag queen attire and girls infant and toddler clothes.

While my two girls wear some pretty girly things (ruffle butt pants, anyone?!?) a lot of their wardrobe is items that would be on trend for adult women (ie chambray shirts & ikat leggings). I recently bought a red marled sweater hoodie and pants set with leather moccasins from the boys section for my 6 month old daughter. She'll rock it with a big hair biw this holiday season.

I usually stick to girl clothes they seem to fit better, but I've done the occasional shirt from the boy section. Actually used a collared boy shirt as a dress for her 6 month pictures and belted it, it looked adorable

Almost her whole wardrobe has been gifted or handed down. So she has mostly girly stuff, but we love boy hand me downs!
