DH goes to work way earlier than I do so he's usually in bed by 9:00 to read and asleep by 10:00. I don't make my way in there until 11:00 or so. On weekends we usually go to bed at the same time.

Yes, only on rare occasions does one of us go to bed earlier or without the other.

Sometimes. A lot of the time I stay up later to pump or finish something I'm working on. He gets up 2-3 hours before me though.

always. i don't know why but i hate going to bed without him. the only exception is when i'm pregnant!
normally we go to bed around 10 or 11, but when i'm pregnant (especially 1st and 2nd tri) I want to go to bed at 7pm every night. I manage to hold out til LO is in bed (9ish) these days, and I don't even know when DH rolls in because I'm out like a light!!

We don't! DH gets up at 4:30/5:00am for work and I don't have to be up till 7:00 and work from home till about 10:00 so he goes to bed much earlier than me. I'm sure that will change once LO arrives! I do "tuck him in" every night, though

DH goes to bed earlier than me. He has to get up early plus I'm a night owl so I just can't sleep that early.
honeydew / 7917 posts
Yes. We go to bed between 11 and 12. I can't seem to sleep easily unless he is by my side.
honeydew / 7586 posts
Right now, with a newborn, we sleep in shifts. Regularly, I go to bed around 10-11 pm and he goes to bed around 1-2 am. Most of the time he falls asleep on the couch though.

yea...we're in bed at the same time to usually decompress and relax...and sometimes i'll pass out before he does
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
Yes, always! There is the rare occasion, usually during football season, when he stays up late and I go to bed. Maybe 3 times a year lol.

Sometimes. DH usually works a few hours every night. So he will either take a cat nap with me when I go to bed or just come to bed later.

Since I work nights at the end of the week, I either going to bed when he is waking up our, on my weekends, I go to bed with him. I may get up at some point during the night but it is important for us to already have a couple days a week when we get to share that oh so wonderful pillow talk. You really do miss out when you can't have it as often as you like.

I would say 90% of the time we go to bed at the same time (pregnancy not included!) Sometimes DH will stay up later if he's not tired at our normal bed time, but usually we crawl into bed at the same time.
pear / 1571 posts
Most of the time, yes, or within a half hour of each other. But even if there's less than 30 minutes between going to bed, the first is always fast asleep before the other one gets there. And that's usually before 10. We're tired people, I guess. Once upon a time I was a night owl and loved to stay up to work on stuff into the wee hours of the morning, but the kiddos are early birds like Farmer Man is and I need a full 7 or 8 hours of asleep, so my sleep schedule has adjusted to theirs. It makes me sad though. I miss my late nights. That's when my creative juices are flowing.

Not since I've been writing for Hellobee! I used to always go to bed at the same time as him, but now I stay up later some nights to write or get other things done. I've always been a bit of a night owl, so it works for me to sometimes stay up for a while. It also allows us to do something together until he goes to bed, which is really nice.
pomelo / 5326 posts
We don't. He likes to stay up very late. Sometimes I find it hard to fall asleep without him so ill keep bugging him to come upstairs though.
pomegranate / 3398 posts
It's rare that we do go to bed together.
He likes to stay up later than I do so I am in bed normally an hour or so after the baby goes to bed.
Lately he has been falling alseep on the couch and I wake him when I go to work for him to go to bed.

Ehhh, it depends. If he's actually home for a few days/weekends, no, he'll stay up later and watch tv. If he's home and catching an early flight the next day, then he'll usually go to bed at the same time I do (around 9:45-10:00ish).
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
I would say 98% of the time, yes! If we're out late individually, we'll try to stay up for the other to come home then go to bed together.

@delight: haha, me too! on the rare nights he's in bed before me I bug the crap out if him to come to bed with me lol.
honeydew / 7283 posts
I used to be the night owl and would occasionally stay up later. Now that we have a baby waking up between 5:30 and 6 every morning we both go to bed at 10 or 10:30 so we get enough sleep.
pear / 1693 posts
Most of the time, no. I like to go to bed between 9-10 and he stays up until midnight or later most nights. Sometimes I'd like to stay up later, but it seems no matter what time I go to bed, I'm up around 6/6:30.
nectarine / 2504 posts
Nope! We rarely go to bed at the same time and it bugs me. I wake up early for work and go to bed by 9:30, he's a night owl and will go to bed no sooner than midnight.
pomelo / 5093 posts
No, never. He's a big night owl, and I'm more normal. He'll come to bed and snuggle with me a bit, or sometimes come and read a book or pull out his laptop. But it's rare that we'll go to sleep at the same time.

Rarely. I just like going to bed earlier than he does. It was definitely hard for me to get used to though! I like when we're on vacation and go to bed at the same time.

He's more of a night owl and will stay up later than me. I prefer to go to bed at the same time though.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Not usually. Last night, he was in bed at 8. I was downstairs doing housework and watching TV. These days, I'm not going to bed until 10 even though I have to get up at 5:30. Too much housework to be done!
