We have a lot of different tastes. I just get what I like, trying to keep him in mind, usually. If I have to wait for him, we'd never have anything besides his old college furniture he got for free, and black leather recliners. *shudder*

Thankfully, we're very similar -- we like contemporary clean lines, but with warmth -- i.e. not sterile super-modern stuff. However, we definitely clashed over homes themselves -- I love older homes with character, and DH pretty much only wants new. So we built a new home that has kind of an "old" feel. Our other option (a fully updated older home) didn't really exist in our price range here.

We have very similar tastes...modern, clean lines, design-y, "Scandinavian". I'm not sure what we would do if we were at odds over decor style!

@SugarplumsMom: We sort of just compromise here and there. Like for our bedroom...our bedframe, and bookcases are more modern, while the accents are on the vintage side of things.

We have very different tastes, but we kind of have the understanding that I get most of the house, with a little of his input, and he gets the living room, with minimal input from me. I hate the living room, but he deserves to have as much tack as he wants in at least one room of the house that we're frequently in. And super tacky, it is.

@Mrs. Yoyo: We have the same taste! Funny enough, we hate the maintenance/upgrades an old home requires. It's been impossible to find a completely updated old home!

We have the same taste in furniture. Sometimes i need to do most of the convincing, and usually a great sale will do the trick.
