We are going to Boston for Memorial Day weekend and I am super excited to visit a new city. The hubs has asked that I not plan too much for us to do while we're there. I am a big planner and he would rather just show up and see what happens. I told him that he can have 3 hours of downtime during the Red Sox game we're going to! I'm trying to keep my planning in check but it's tough.
Do you and your SO have the same vacation style, or is one of you more eager to plan things out?

@PBandBaseball: ha! You and I are alike and so are our husbands. He would rather plan nothing on vacation and just veg or see how things go. I need to always be on the go!
That being said, on our honeymoon, I let go and it was wonderful. We did nothing while on the ship and we both enjoyed it.

@mediagirl: haha. I compromised on our honeymoon and planned activities for every other day. It worked out pretty well but there were definitely things that we didn't get a chance to do because of time. I think I might try that for this trip too. Maybe have mornings free or something like that.

Nope...he wants something planned every minute and I am the laid back one who wants to just go with the flow. 
We do both like to do things "off the beaten path," though. We always do a few touristy things but usually try to act like locals lol.

We used to be different. I was very go go go, and he just likes to relax on the beach. Now I also appreciate the relaxation.

Oh, we are SO travel incompatible. I memorize guidebooks and websites and other data, and want to see EVERYTHING and eat at places that were pre-determined to be really good. DH just wants to hang out.
We actually find that we do best if, when we travel together, we hit up places that I'm already familiar with, so I feel less like I need to pack an itinerary full of stuff.

We're the same! We're a mix of both! On our honeymoon, we made sure to plan our excursions and did a lot of activities.
On our anniversary trip, we both just wanted to relax and just did one snorkeling excursion.
Depending on how we want the trip to be, we can be researchers/planners or just laid-back go with the flow travelers!
