I do. I shouldn't. We live on a busy street with a bus stop right in front of our house. The bus comes from a "bad" neighborhood. So we have not so savory characters walking around all the time. I hate it. Once Wagon Sr. forgot to lock the car and some kid must have been watching him because they ransacked the car and took our GPS and ipod touch.

Anyway... I shouldn't answer the door for people I don't know. I want a peephole so badly. We get magazine subscription solicitors all the time... and Jehovah's witnesses.

I do, but I have a 140 pound noisy Newfoundland dog, so I figure he is a good deterrent for anyone who is up to no good.

I don't. We have a peep hole and I can see who's at the door from our second level.

No way. I'll at least look through the peephole, but if I'm not expecting a friend or a delivery guy I don't respond to the buzz or knock at the door.

Nope, if I'm alone, I never answer the door. I just pretend I'm not home.

BUT, this does make me a little nervous, because I've heard that in my area, people have been breaking into houses they think are empty. They'll come, knock on the door, and if no one answers, assume no one is home and then break in. So not answer does make me a little nervous too...

Nope, I'll spy from the peephole or windows first. I'm terrified from watching the news nowdays, you never know who could be at your door!

I look through the peep hole first. Lots of times a neighbor will stop by that I don't know or something, so usually I will open it. I have a very big dog so I feel safe doing it.

Nope! I'm so thankful people can't see if I'm in the living room. I once hid behind the couch at my mom's house because she had a huge picture window and people at the front door could see into the living room when the curtains were open. I make the hubs answer our door unless we're expecting someone.

I do... kinda. We don't have a peephole in our door, but a big-ish window, so if I can see them, they can see me. The dogs are usually barking, so I just talk to them through the closed/locked door. I usually ask them to leave whatever material they have on the porch and I go out and get it later (after they've left).

Usually, it's just the UPS or FedEx guy who rings the doorbell/knocks on the door. They leave the package and peace out.

I try not to, but now that it's warm out, I leave the windows open in the den which is on the side of our front door. Yesterday I worked from home and had to answer to Jehovah's witnesses. I just kindly said no thank you and shut the door.

If DH is not home, I NEVER answer the door. I guess I am a scaredy cat.

No way. I hardly open it for people I do know.

I typically do, and I should stop! I live on the 3rd floor of a condo building, and our intercom system to the front door doesn't work. I usually assume it's UPS or Fedex so I'll just buzz people in when hear the front door buzzer. But there have been times where sales people or Jehovah's witnesses come knock on my condo door!
