In the tub or shower? I sometimes take baths with E, especially when he's being super fussy and nothing else is working. I'll lay him on my chest and nurse him. When he's calm I'll float him in the water--he really loves water.
I've showered with him once, with no soap. He seemed to like it well enough, but I was petrified of dropping him the entire time.
Do you ever take a bath or shower with your LO?

We shower together sometimes but only when my husband is around to help get her out. I will get in the shower and get clean, he will pass me a naked baby, I wash her up (she loves to sit under the water with her head on my shoulder), and then I hand her off to my husband.

Ive never showered with her, DH is in charge of all baby baths so I haven't really needed to. DH has taken her into the tub with him a few times to splash and play but he insists on wearing a bathing suit in there with her becuase he says it's not appropriate for him to be naked. He's too funny!

We've done both. LO loves the water so it always calms him down if he is fussy. Its nice because i love baths too so we can just take one together and I can relax for a bit.
The shower we only do if we are both there to hand off baby when he is clean.

My LO isn't here yet but I am 100% sure we'll shower together! My mom did it with us and I've always been used to the idea of it. Of course, I'd *like* it if he would just bathe in his own tub and me in mine, but sometimes when a kid is fussy and both mom & baby need to clean up and go; it works!
I wouldn't take a bath with him only because our tub is super deep and even I (being 5'3"ish-5'4"ish) am small for it haha. So, I wouldn't trust myself at all.

We used to. I don't like having to dry myself off and my lo off so I stopped bathing with her.

I am not pregnant, but I plan to take baths with my LO. I saw Bethenny do it with Bryn on her show and it looked so sweet!

@TurtleDoves: not only that but it makes it so much easier then they are accustomed to showers. My little sister is nearly 8 and still afraid of showering lol
I have bathed and showered with him, and it's a "sometimes" occurrence. Now that he is old enough to be in the bath tub by himself I mostly just bathe him on his own but in the beginning all he did was shower or bathe with me!

I haven't yet, but I will/would when she is older. It is too dangerous in my opinion to soap them up while showering etc. They get very slippery and I wouldn't want to be responsible for dropping her and hurting her. During her bath I will pour water on her head being careful not to get water in her ears, in order to get her used to that. Baby bird loves baths!

Baby Boy always gets his own bath in the evening, but sometimes if I want to shower in the middle of the day I'll let him come in with me. He loves it!

@TurtleDoves: haha yeah she's a little extreme though - she is dramatic on all fronts. It's funny because my parents don't have a bathtub, so she takes a bath in a large bin that they just put in the shower.. sooo funny!

On nights when DH is home for bedtime, I bathe with DS and DH bathes with DD. On nights when DH isn't home, DD, DS, and I all get in together. It's just easier that way!
The kids love having us take baths with them, and it's nice quality time to just relax and play in the tub, so it works for us. Probably once DS is able to get into the big tub on his own (9 months, maybe?) we'll just start putting the kids into the tub together. Although one of us might still get in with them occasionally.

I shower with TG every other day, she can't take an evening bath with the curly hair. Wonder Baby comes in about once a week. Sometimes they have an evening bath together when they're really dirty

I prefer hot water, so only when we're traveling and she's not happy alone in the tub or there's no tub so we need to shower.

No I have never, she is only 5 months old and we dont use the same soap right now. When she is older maybe but not for a while

With DD #2 the sound of the shower would calm any crankiness immeadiately, it was a miracle. When she got to be a couple months old I would take her in the shower with me, clean her up, hand her off to DH to dress her, and then clean myself up. By the time I got out she was ready to be fed and put to bed. It was a life saver some nights.

A few people on here mentioned they bathed with their lo's and I decided to try it. We haven't gone back. I LOVE bathing with her! It's so much fun to spend that time together. We have tried showers and she's okay with them. She likes the water hitting her but I'm afraid I'll slip and drop her.

Nope - I like my shower/bath water HOT HOT HOT! I did try to take a bath one time with LO (me in tub, her in her own tub placed in the tub) but I think it confused her. She kept looking at me like "what are YOU doing in here?!" and it was ackward and uncomfortable.

DH used to bathe with her because we thought it was so much easier than the big bulky plastic tub but then he started to get weirded out when DD would kick his "boys" (if you know what I mean) lol it would always make me laugh

We shower together all the time. We don't have a tub but we used to use a PUJ then a little inflatable tub. Still, we've always showered too. For those who are afraid of the soapy baby situation, I heard someone recommend wearing a tshirt while showering to make things less slippery. Now that my kid is nearing 2 that's not really an issue for us. He plays around with stuff while I get my showering done. And I'm sure I should use cooler water but he seems ok with it!

haha. She wanted me to get in the bath with her tonight, but I didn't!
