We have a neighborhood pool we are members of. I don't think it would be worth it to become a member of a pool until my daughter is swim team age with our community pool. Someday we will so she can do swim team, though.

No - we would only be able to go on the weekends and during the summer we have a million other things going on so it doesn't make sense!
If I was a SAHM I would in a heartbeat and go everyday!!

We're going to join the Y so that Xander can get swimming lessons, but otherwise, no. But we're more likely to go to a lake or the ocean to swim.

We have access to neighborhood pools. I am looking forward to reading by the pool this summer!

Our neighborhood has a couple of water parks and a lot of pools. There are also several swim teams that I'd love for them to join when they're older, if they're interested.

@Keybee: enjoy it! You won't be able to next summer.
We have a pool, so nope.

My parents have HOA w/ a pool and now live 15 min away so score!

Nah - I have one at my gym and there's a splashpad across the street. (And many, many more in parks close by)

Probably not... The one in our area has a 10+ year waiting list and a $5000 joining fee. SO not worth it.

my gym has indoor and outdoor pools and I can take LO during family swim times

We used to belong to one when I was a kid, eventually I even lifeguarded there.
I would totally have joined, except it's closed now.

@Mrs.Someone: that's ridiculous
@rachiecakes: I wished there was a splash pad within walking distance or heck 5 min driving distance!

we just joined a pool. i loved going to the pool growing up and even though LO is young (2 years old), he can go in the kiddie pool and i can take him in the big pool. also the pools around here have long waiting lists (the one closest to us is 3+ years!) so i figured we should join when a membership became available.

The closest community pool and is thousands of dollars for the year, so we won't be joining any time soon. There is a free splashpad in a park not too far away.

We have a pool, so no, but when lo is older we will join the neighborhood pool for swim team, social interactions, etc.

There is a pool about two blocks away. Family membership is $500 for May-September. I think we will join next year or the year after. Everyone else in the neighborhood with kids belongs. I'm due in June so between pp stuff and adjusting to baby I don't see how it could be worth it this year even if DH took DD (2yo) frequently.
There is a reservoir about a mile away from us. It is $3/person/swim (we get a family seasonal pass). We'll stick to that this year and maybe next year. Either way we'll need swim lessons somewhere else.

No. I lived in an apartment for 4 years and we backed right up to the pool and I only went there once. so it's never really been worth it to me.

There is, but it's $300/summer and the other public pools nearby are more kid friendly. Plus for $7/visit, we don't spend more than $100 all summer. Ours have slides and water playgrounds....perfect for toddlers

Yep! We belong to a swim and tennis club because DH and I both play tennis year-round!

We used to belong to the Y before we moved. Not sure if we'll join somewhere this summer or just go to the local place when we can.
