Could you bring cutlery? Pasta salad could be eaten right from the container and wouldn't need heating. Chicken Caesar wraps (does that count as a sandwich?), maybe?

@dragonsword: will he eat cold chicken nuggets? Then add some fruit and cheese or yogurt

DS1 is super picky as well.

He would probably only eat pbj or pb crackers at the pool. Getting him to sit still would be an issue too

I would make a deconstructed pasta salad like boiled tortellini and toss in some olive oil and serve that cold with chunks of ham or turkey or salami, string cheese, baby carrots or cherry tomatoes, and a fruit salad.

My kids like pepperoni and cheese with some fruit. Or peanut butter on crackers!
