My daughter is 4.5 and primarily brushes her own teeth. I'll do it after again if she's had something sugary. She does a decent job though (electric toothbrush) and flosses after.

She does it and then I go over it. We are bad about flossing though!

@2littlepumpkins: mine uses those little picks! They're fun colors - her dentist said they prefer real floss but with kids they take whatever they'll get lol

The dentist told me to have her brush and I can follow up if necessary. We also use an electric toothbrush so I think she does a pretty good job herself.

@sorrycharlie: my dd likes those too! Her teeth don't really touch yet though so I admit I get lazy! No cavities so far, fingers crossed it stays that way! How'd you get your dd to floss the back? I have trouble getting dd to brush the back, she says it tickles and hates it!
