I just ordered SIL's bday gift. Her birthday is on 5/18. It'll take about 3 weeks to get here though (custom item).
A cutie pie that I love has a birthday in August and I'm tempted to order her gift today too.

I buy gifts as I come across things that I think people will like. I actually have a couple Christmas gifts that I've already purchased!! The toughest part is remembering where I've hidden them.

I typically buy gifts far ahead. Or I will at least try to figure out what I am getting and then start shopping around for the best price. If I know I want to get a custom item, then it's safer just to order as far ahead of time as you can. I hate shopping last minute!!!

I always buy things way in advance. Like for my friend's baby whose birthday was this month? I bought her gift many months ago.

I also buy gifts as I see them. If I wait until I need them, I would.never find that perfect gift. I think I have enough gifts for my sister for 3 years of birthdays and chanukahs.

haha not THAT far in advance. you're too funny! typically, if i'm ordering something, i like to give it about 2 weeks. also, i like to know the return policy. like if it's 14 days, i don't want to wait 3 months to give it to them and they can't return it if they don't like it or what not.

Maybe, if I find the perfect gift. But my memory is really bad and I would probably forget that I had already bought them something and then end up buying something else!

If I see something that I think my relative would like for their birthday, Christmas or another holiday, I'll buy it. It is hard to remember where I put everything when the time comes, though. This past December, I gave my Mom a gift I had bought for her the year before and had "lost" in our house.

I usually keep running lists of people and my gift ideas for them. There have been times that I bought something for someone because I thought they'd love it only to have them buy it for themselves before their birthday/Christmas. I've also forgotten where I hid gifts only to find them after I bought something else. So now I have a google doc called Gifts where I type in my ideas as they come. Then when it comes time to buy, I just pick off the list. I also have amazon gift lists for my immediate family.
