I may not have phrased the title very eloquently, but what I'm wondering is if you will, within reason, buy your kids anything they ask for at the holidays, regardless of whether or not you think it's silly, pointless, they'll be over it in a week, etc.? If you do buy these things, are they from you, or Santa?
My DDs are over the moon about some gift ideas that I, quite frankly, think are pretty dumb. One wants a "bouncy doggie" (like a Rody, which we have already); the other really wants a purple pony Scootaheadz for her scooter (which I think is overpriced and limited in its use). Both are around $30 (won't totally break the bank, but just pricey enough for me to feel like it's wasteful if they are short-lived), so I'll probably just get them for them, most likely from Santa to discourage the idea that these gifts were something mommy wanted them to have (and there fore keep asking me for!)
