Yes, so far we have. They ask for one thing every year and we try to make it happen. LO 1 wants a bike and LO 2 wants some new magnetic tiles this year.

i have so far, but there's nothing outlandish. last year, DD1 (then almost 3) insisted baby sister (then 2 months) wanted an astronaut.... so i found a little people astronaut figure. random, but she was excited for sister.

this year, she's almost 4 and has said that she's gonna ask santa for more train tracks.... which she asked for last year (and received from santa!) and she barely uses.... but it's not too much and i like playing trains and she's the oldest, so i figure it's not a bad buy.

Yes, not every single thing but a good bit of the things. I was pretty spoiled on Christmas day when I was growing up and I remember it being sooooo awesome. I want DD to feel the same. Luckily for now she isn't asking for anything too expensive. Her list for Santa has been and remains: doc's hospital, tsumtsum's, duck game.....

So far, yes, if it is reasonable. Maybe later when they want an expensive pair of shoes or something like that, it may be the only gift. I literally did not buy a single toy for my older LO this past year (his birthday is close to the holidays, and he received a few random "just because" family gifts throughout the year), so I feel like we can splurge a little on a birthday or Christmas gift.

For the most part yes. She keeps adding on more princess dolls though and we already have so many. I keep reminding her she probably won't get every single thing she asks for.

Yes, if they are within reason. So far everything she has asked for has been. She asked for a dollhouse for her Barbies to sleep. Which is something we were talking about getting her anyway. So far she asks Santa for one thing.

Yup. He's only 3 and hasn't really "asked" for anything, but he's into things (like dinosaurs). So, we'll pick him up something dinosaur related we think he'll enjoy regardless if I think it's dumb or what not. lol

He usually only asks for one thing, so yes. So far we have. This year, I'm actually trying to get him to ask Santa for more. He wanted a spinbrush toothbrush at Target, and I told him maybe Santa would bring it. That's the only thing he's asking for now. Cracks me up!

The one extravagant thing he did ask my inlaws for was a trampoline. I vetoed it right away and told him that we don't have room for a trampoline and Grandma and Pop-pop aren't made of money! Haha...he seemed disappointed, but moved on pretty quickly to something smaller and much more manageable.

@PinkElephant: if she gets upset that she didn't get something it will either be
1. a lesson in you don't get everything you want
2. I will buy her one for her bday in March

yes, I know, 2 totally opposite responses - not sure which I will do - guess it will depend on her reaction.

I will add since then she has been talking about another toy non stop so I think that's more on her radar now anyway - I'll report back after Xmas

@PinkElephant: For the scooter thing, I'd offer to help her make a unique decoration, probably using stuff in our craft bin. Purple paperboard should make a pretty nice horse head/silhouette, and then you could add something the plastic thing doesn't come with, like ribbon tassels or glued-on sequins or stickers. By the time it all falls off or gets ruined, she'll probably either be over it or enthusiastic enough to make new decorations largely by herself.

Yes because so far is it always reasonable and they don't ask for much.

If it's within budget then I like to. DH is more likely to dismiss something if he doesn't see the value in it though
