Yes, I always give her a heads up that we won't be in!

I try to, but there have been times I have forgotten until it's like noon!

We are required to notify them by 9 am if LO isn't coming for whatever reason.

Not usually, especially if it is only one day. If she is sick with something contagious then I would of course call to give them to give a heads up

I call or email. Some way to document that C will be out and an expected return date.

Yup, it's kinda like calling in sick to work.

DS doesn't go to daycare, but when I was taking him to the gym childcare I called him in sick twice to there.

Honestly, I don't often.
For one, sometimes she's just home with a little something or we let her sleep in with the hopes that she could go in around noon. If I call, then they give me grief when we try to take her in. And sometimes, she is just out with a fever or runny nose but we don't take her to the doctor. And again, they give us grief about not taking her in.

Yup. I think it helps with their daily planning. I know they consolidate the two infant classes sometimes when many babies are out.

Yes. It's not in their policy but I do it anyway just to help them plan their day. There are only 8 kids so one makes a big difference to them.

Calling in such a good idea especially if a no call/ no show prompts them to call 911 in case of an actual emergency.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
Yes. It's not policy but I think it is courteous to do so in case it affects their staffing in any way for the day.
grapefruit / 4554 posts
Yeah we always call, or they actually get worried, I've had them call me when I was late one day.

We use a home care provider so I would for sure call, but we haven't had a sick day yet **knocks on wood furiously**
