Yesterday, while on a walk, E found a big muddy puddle, stomped in, and then lost his balance and sat down it. Wearing regular shorts, a long-sleeved white tee and sneakers, oy. After a moment of surprise he was delighted and started splashing around. I had a split-second of "oh god" and then jumped in and splashed around with him (standing, in flip flops. My butt wasn't getting muddy). Then of course he decided he was ready to go home and didn't want to walk so I ended up carrying him home, soaking wet.
If you follow me on IG you've probably seen a ton of pictures of E going to town on food (this morning he was covered in blueberries) or stomping around in puddles outside. Though I'm not super fastidious about him being clean in general I've been a little bit surprised by how laid back about it I actually am. I kind of figure...nothing a good soapy bath won't fix.
Does your LO getting dirty make you want to grit your teeth or do you just roll with it and/or jump in?
