Oh shit, we hit 10 years next monday. I'll probably make us a nice dinner.

We acknowledge when we became boyfriend and girlfriend--don't really celebrate it though! But we didn't really have an official "first date": we were college students and were friends first, so it really just transitioned into a relationship rather than having an official date. But your plans to celebrate yours sound great: maybe we should do more to celebrate ours!

We used to make a bigger deal before we got married. Now we just acknowledge it and maybe make a special dinner at home. When we lived in Chicago, we would actually go out for deep dish pizza every month on the 27th (our date-a-versary is May 27). It was a silly little tradition, but it was fun and yummy!

I just realized that a cute new tradition would be to have Italian ices on the anniversary of the day that we met. We met during a riot in Philadelphia (we weren't part of it, it just broke out around us!) But the rumor always was that it started because of Rita's running out of ices on free ice day. That would be so fun! I just have to remember this for March...

@sweetooth: We are both pizza fanatics, and knew we were only living there temporarily, so we were afraid our Friday night homemade super thin crust pizza night would turn into Friday night deep dish night! So once a month worked out waaay better...and we were much younger then!

I did go save the ices as a reminder in my google calendar for March 20 I think it will be fun!

aw, that sounds like it will be nice. we don't celebrate our first date--we barely celebrate our wedding anniversary.

We don't because it's so close to our wedding anniversary (and the day we got engaged), so we just celebrate once a year. It's all within a few weeks of each other.

Pre-kids, yes, but post kids we have so many days to celebratev and so few babysitters. Now it's a good excuse to open a nicer bottle of wine after bedtime.

Eh it's so hard to count it as dating since we were 19 & 20 when we were officially in a relationship. We got together in October and were married 3 years later in October. So I just usually add 3 years to how long we have been married and acknowledge that we have been together that long on our wedding anniversary. 11 years total now

Yes we do celebrate our 1st date anniversary every year. For us that was 7 years ago.

Our tradition is to go down to the fish market and have a fresh seafood feast. This year we had to alter it a bit since I'm pregnant and cant' eat raw seafood but it was still a lovely time. I'm not sure how this tradition started since it has absolutely nothing to do with our first date which was an art museum and dinner.

No, we only celebrate our wedding anniversary, we usually somewhat acknowledge our dating anniversary (or at least the day we met) but don't go out of our way to celebrate it.
