My inlaws are coming over today so you bet your butt in cleaning.

@Mrs. Bee: I swear she comes over with a white glove. I've caught her vacuuming here before.

I'm always paranoid that no matter how well we clean it will go unnoticed.

Depends on the friend, but generally no. If you've seen my house with dishes in the sink and the floor unswept and me in yoga pants with no makeup? It just means we're really good friends

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Same with my mom!! I clean better for her than anyone else because she is so picky and has no problem sharing what she finds wrong haha. One time she told me my bathroom baseboards were dusty. Okay…….? That's like, not even in the rotation honestly lol. We had a cleaning service for a year and it was like the BEST THING EVER bc I'd schedule them the day before she was to come (she had no idea we'd hired out) and for that one precious year she never had a word to say about my cleaning

It depends on how close our friendship is. Acquaintance, yes. Friends, no. Home study, clean enough to sell.

My mom is always like, "it's so messy in here!!" And I'm like "I HAVE A TODDLER! What did you expect?!"

My mom notices handprints on windows, the tv, and mirrors. If I tried to keep up with the sticky little fingers, I'd be washing windows 5 times a day. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Yeah definitely. Especially friends who don't have kids and have no idea what tornados they are.

Yup, I'm doing it this weekend in prep for the mummy & baby group coming to my house on Monday.

Normally I would but when baby was newborn and people came over I had to just let it go a little!

I wish I could just let it go, but I always have to clean before anyone stops by! We have a very furry dog and while
I'm sure other people can ignore his hair, I vacuum many times a week and know how self-conscious I can be.

Depends! I always straighten and wipe down the bathroom, but I don't deep clean unless it is someone who is going to be staying with us!

I would tidy up and dust if the dust is visible. Sometimes it's very visible!

My family is more inclined to just wash a dish or something instead of judging my dirty. If DH's side is coming I crazy clean, especially since my MIL has commented before that I needed to vacuum.
