I also find it creepy unless it is from someone I know very well, like my MIL! So I would never gift baked goods to people (homemade). I feel like other people have this phobia as well and it would be a waste of a gift/effort.

@Dandelion: Pretty much. I eat my own baked goods and those that my mother makes. She is an amazing baker so I'm very spoiled with her goodies!

I'm gluten free so it is a rarity that someone else bakes something I can eat. If they do, I'm super thankful and I definitely eat it!

Always. I've eaten treats from the teachers lounge without even knowing who put it there. If you don't eat baked goods from others, do you eat at restaurants or other food service places? There's no distinction to me between the two.

Yes if it looks pretty or smells good I will gladly eat it! For coworkers, it depends on the person.

I'll eat any baked goods that look tasty. As long as something looks clean I think it's probably safe enough. I've never gotten sick from bake sale or friend items, and I love to bake for other people.

Of course!!! My only concern would be whether or not it looked tasty. And really, I wouldn't even be THAT concerned about that. Sugar + carbs + butter? In it goes!
