I always threw it away but then I saw a friend use the thick stem in a quiche!
Do you eat it?

Not the whole stem but a good amount of it. I love the stem part more than the crown/floret part so when I cut my broccoli I make them super big/long with lots of stem part. When I make broccoli salad I use a lot of the stem part too. Or I love shredded broccoli slaw which is the stem part

Sometimes. If I feel like chopping matchsticks, I will occasionally make kinpira out of it. I will also occasionally chop it up into smaller bits and steam them with the florets.

Yes. DH thinks it's weird I eat the asparagus stalk and not just the tip.

Yes! I peel off the skin with a potato peeler to get the woody part off, but its very good - almost like asparagus when cooked and very good raw with hummus or dip!

I always do! ? I would feel like I was wasting if I didn't. Never thought of not using it.
