I looove buying ebooks and will never go back to paper books. I have 6-7 shelves of paper books and was going to run out of room if I hadn't made the switch over to ebooks!
However, I am finding that I don't find it as relaxing to read an ebook. I can't read them in the tub (without stress) and I can't curl up somewhere with nothing but a book. So overall, it's a less enjoyable experience for me.
Do you enjoy reading an ebook as much as reading a paper book?

I love my e-books. The part I miss is dog-earing, though. Sure, you can DO it with an e-reader, but it's not as easy and not as fulfilling. Yes, I find dog-earing fulfilling. I love books waaaay too much.

I bought an e-reader but I always feel more accomplished when I read a paper book, plus my Nook is always dead when I want to read it. I don't read books twice so it kindof was a waste for me

I enjoy it. I know I'm doing something good for the planet and my wallet because I don't need a new house just for my book collection. It was getting out of control.

I've never used an e-reader but have such a love for paper books I don't think I could give them up. I get joy out of seeing my progress of pages read.

I love both! I get real books from the library so they don't take up permanent space. Ebooks are great for instant gratification and for traveling. I am a super fast reader and carrying 3-4 books on vacation weighs me down!

I love E-books. It made me a reader again. For some reason, seeing the percentage of the book I read motivates me. Plus, I love not having to lug a book around. especially on public transport where I do a large chunk of reading.

I love e-books. I read too sporadically to borrow books from the library with any consistency and I only buy books that I love and I know I will read again. And, in those cases, I love to have the *actual* book.
I also like having the option to read on my cell phone in certain situations.

Reading off a tablet (or "colour e-reader" like the Kindle Fire) is terrible. The backlight hurts my eyes and being a device also connected to social media is distracting.
However, I do very much enjoy reading off of an e-ink device (like the Kindle Paperwhite). Honestly, if what you're reading is good, you forget what you are reading off of in about 30 seconds. Also e-readers have numerous benefits to paper books. Paper books actually borderline annoy me, to the point where I would choose to read off my e-reader every time. I can't hold a paper book comfortably in one hand or read it in the dark without a separate light. I can't buy the sequel to a book while I am sitting at the park and dying to read more, and so many more things my Kindle offers me.
Paper books are not environmentally friendly, they're expensive, wasteful and so inconvenient compared to an e-reader. This is coming from someone who reads A LOT and also once said they would never be able to get used to a digital book.

I never thought I would give up paper books but I read almost exclusively e-books these days. Plus, I downloaded the Nook app to my iPhone and I love being able to sneak in a chapter or two almost anywhere with my phone.

I miss reading paper books and I love collecting them but I just can't give up the convenience of having options in one little ereader or on my iphone!

The only reason I have paper books now is to create my own home library. It's of books I love and I honestly am scared of a world without real books. I want my kids to know what a library is and to feel a real novel in their hands.

@Ginabean3: Im a quick reader, too, and love my nook for the convenience of being able to buy the next book in a series as soon as I finish the first.
I actually use my nook in the tub all the time! I have one of those tub trays with a book holder, though, so I'm not too worried about dropping it.

Before getting my Kindle I was definitely a "paper books for life!" kinda person, own hundreds and hundreds, loved wandering used book stores etc.
But now... I think I actually prefer the Kindle! I find holding a paper book so awkward now, I love that the Kindle always fits in my purse (as opposed to lugging a hardcover around), and I LOVE being able to read in the dark.

I don't think I could give up either one of them. I love my kindle because it's small and more convenient to carry in my purse, and it's nice to have on vacations and long trips so I don't have to bring multiple books. It's also nice because I don't have to worry about bookmarks and losing my place! However I can't give up "real" books either! There is just something about holding an actual book and turning the pages that I love! It brings me more satisfaction!
