We have only done it once (pre marriage and kids) and it was a lot of fun. My friends had a 16 month old at the time.
I wonder how it would be with kids of my own!

We did once pre-babies! We had a great time. I would definitely do it again. Not sure what it would be like with children, possibly stressful? But, I would try.

We have been with SIL and her kids. It was completely fine, because it was clear from the start what we would all do as a group and when we would do our own things.

We haven't really vacationed with other families yet that are not in our family. We will be next year! We're going to rent a house together. It will be fun!

@illumina: It's always nice to do a few things together and then have time to just enjoy the vacation with your family.

Never had the opportunity to yet, but I think I would... especially if the kids are close in age and can play together!

Haven't done it with other families just other couples prebaby. But we are doing a beach weekend with several families in July! Two of my mom friends are coming with their kids and husbands along with my neighbors with their kids. I am excited!

We've done friendscations prebaby, but no family trips with friends yet.
Our friendscation friends are starting to have kids now and we're all excited to do trips together in the future

We've dinner long weekends with various couples and always had fun. I have a feeling as we all get a bit more settled into parenthood that will continue. As of now though we tend to only do a big trip every other year though so it will likely be reserved for family time.

We've done it once, and it was so much fun! More so than going with our family members that have kids
We've talked about canceling our family vacation on one side in favor of the friend vacay.

I haven't in years - actually, I haven't since I was a kid. It was a lot of fun then! But now, as a married adult with my own family, I quite like the aspect of leaving everything (and everyone) behind and vacationing on our own. It just seems more relaxing to me.

A bunch of us went to Mexico for a destination wedding and it was really fun! A few of the couples didn't bring along their tots though and I wish they did. However, it was still fun with a few tots that did come!

i can't go away with one of my BFFs & her kids anymore. some families are yellers and that's their norm, it just makes me really uncomfortable & it doesn't help our friendship or make for enjoyable trips for me. i'm sure there are other friends with families that don't yell so much or other kid free friends that i'd be happy to go away with

We go away with my BFF and her family a couple times a year ... places like Great Wolf are better in packs
This summer we're going away for a week together - and I'm really looking forward to it!
