I'm not exactly sure why but I just don't worry that much about LO being cold. I think I dress her appropriately for the weather (long pants and long sleeves. A sweater if it seems cold in the house or if we're going out). But like... I rarely put socks on her. I do if we're leaving the house, but if I try to put them on in the house she just pulls them off anyways and our house isn't THAT cold (we keep it at 70 degrees, our main living space is probably a few degrees cooler). Also if we are heading out I rarely put her in a coat unless it is really cold (like less than 30 degrees). Her car seat has a wooly blanket thing, I always put a hat on her, and we live in the suburbs so it takes us at most 1 minute to run from car to store when we go out. And I generally feel like if I put her in in a whole bunch of winter gear she'd be hot once we were walking around the store (especially because I wear her).

But I feel like I get the side-eye a lot! lol. My mom is constantly bugging me to put socks on LO at home because she must be so cold. And when I'm running into a store at 35 degrees out with her in a little hoody and passing moms who have their kids in full on snow gear I feel like people think I'm negligent!

I guess I just feel like babies are a bit tougher than we give them credit for and she has never seemed bothered by cold. And it seems to me that I'd rather her be a little chilly for 1 minute into the store than hot for 20 minutes while we walk around.

What side do you err on?
