I do with pants. I love skinny jeans on him and they are hard to find for boys. Pierson's a string bean and boy jeans are solo big on him! . I also do some shirts that to me look gender neutral! If we have a girl some day, she will def rock some of her brothers clothes as well!

Hahah that is so funny because we do the exact same! My husband doesn't know but I shop in the girl dept all the time for jeans, pants, and certain kinds of tops too. I love the more androgenous look. They really should make jeggings for boys.

I have a girl so I feel like it's easier, but yes. We received a bunch of hand me downs from my nephews and I kept some that I felt were more neutral, then passed the others on to my friend and her son.
That said, I hardly ever reach for the boy things since I was gifted so many cute girl ones.

Our last name is Behr, and there aren't that many bear outfits at Carter's, so DD was in "boy" outfits that had bears on them. DS#1 wears DD's old raincoat that is a girl coat (it has some pink on it), but that's because I refuse to buy another raincoat because of the color pink.

Yes, I shopped in both sections when I was Team Green since there were several sleepers that I thought would work for either sex. So he's worn some sleepers from the girl's section!

DD wears 75% boys/neutral clothes. I just prefer that look!

No, not at all, but I don't do it for myself either. I guess if something is really neutral, like plain colored tees or polo shirts it could go either way, but I hadn't actually done it on purpose.

I think the only "boy" clothes we have for her are zip up hoodies and a Red Sox hat.

Definitely! I just bought her a bunch of long sleeved sporty shirts at TCP and I love the skinny sweats they have at Next. I've always loved boy sneakers, I think they look especially cute with pigtails

@stargal: yes and for the same reason as you, because I love the look of skinny jeans and leggings. I also shy away from stereotypical boy stuff, and I hate sports themed stuff, and I love gender-neutral things. I notice both my husband and I shop without paying attention to whether is boy or girl stuff, and only later do we notice a little detail that lets us know it's meant for girls! I just really don't care. As soon as he expresses any kind of preference, we'll honor it, but clothing at this stage is so fun!

Sometimes. If something looks cute and gender neutral it's good to go. I also find that boys stuff is far more functional than girls. We're going on a cruise next week, and I was looking for hat, sunglasses, swim suit for her. The ones in the boys section all provided way more protection. Hats with bigger brims, more wrap style sunglasses, and a mini wet suit with long sleeves and shorts.

@Sapphiresun: just yesterday in target I was bitching to my husband that almost ALL of the boy suits had rash guards with sleeves and there was only one in the girls section. All the other suits had spaghetti straps. I'm sorry but my 1 year old isn't looking to get a sweet tan!!

@MamaMoose: I was in superstore, which carries the Joe Fresh brand, and was actually pretty pleased that there were about four long sleeve rash guards to choose from, and two were pretty cute. But the boys ones had leg coverage not just a undies type bottom, so, she's rocking the orange one from the boys section, covered from knees to neck, with a navy hat.

No, but I prefer girly/more feminine clothes. She does have a few sports team onesies, but rarely wears them. If I had a boy I would totally dress him in skinny jeans, though.

When LO was an infant, I bought a lot of unisex sleepNplays and onesies, but now that she's older, I don't really but any boy clothes. I tend to buy her mostly navy, bright blue, and green because those are my favorite colors, so sometimes her clothes look like "boy clothes" even though they are girl clothes.
Also, I have a blue stroller and all blue A&A blankets, so I've been waiting for a comment on my little "boy"--haven't gotten one yet though!

Just a couple of pieces I think. I do think some of DD's clothes will be okay for a boy in the future, so I've saved them.

@Anagram: That's surprising! I find that if I take LO out in anything but pink, I get comments on my cute little boy. She has a mint and white striped sweater with glitter buttons that we were out in the other day, and at least three people came up to talk about "him". But she's bald... so perhaps that's the problem.

@Sapphiresun: my LO has hair so she usually has a now or something. So that's probably it-- also people are getting more PC! I get a lot of "what a gorgeous baby!" Or "look at those lashes", which are gender neutral comments.

@Anagram: I find that amazing that no one says that your lo is a boy! I can have my lo in a dress and a blue cardigan, and people will call her a boy!
I have lots of boy/gender neutral clothes for my lo because I like the look better, and I like colours like navy, green and grey and lots of those are in the "boy" section. I just buy whatever I like on her, and I don't mind if she's mistaken for a boy!

I buy cargo pants for her from the boys section sometimes, and she has a couple of stripes tee shirts that are from boys.

Sure; clothes are clothes. So much is so "gender specific" which kind of pisses me off. My girl might just like trucks (she does) and non-girly animals. I'm "girly" but that isn't an excuse to force on LO only what a corporation's marketing department's idea of what little girls like to wear. I hate girly as a cop out.
ETA; I also hate the equivalent for a cop out for boys. Little dudes can rock "girl" stuff.

On occasion they have. We were team green & for some reason everyone (including us) thought we were having boys. Because of this we have some boyish clothes & they've worn some of the neutral/but more boyish sleepers, etc.

No, I'm too much of a sucker for girly stuff. But if I'd been offered hand-me-downs I probably would have.
