We allow edits for up to 3 hours... I usually only edit a post in the first few minutes though.
I don't know why a post will look great, until I hit submit... and then it will immediately look different and I'll have to edit it. It happened with this post - I just added this second paragraph to the post!

If I do it's also only within the first few minutes, usually if my wording sounds weird or I spelled something wrong.

I always notice a mistype or try to make things clearer sometimes after I hit submit. I'm terrible about getting it right the first time!

Alllll the time. For typos, grammar, clarity... sometimes I'll reread a response and feel like I came off like a know it all or rude, so I'll edit for that, too.

Yes but I sometimes get so busy that I miss the window or don't have time to proofread. I've had some pretty embarrassingly bad typos usually the biggest culprit it my iPhone word fill.

@mrbee: Yup! Like, at least, 10 times after I hit submit! I'm pretty sure after the 3 hr limit, I could still edit it further.
Most of the typos are because I'm using my phone. Other times, it's just me.

I post from my phone a lot, and the autocorrect is terrible! If I don't notice a mistake until I've already posted, I'll edit for that. I'll also occasionally reword my post, or remove it entirely, if I feel that it was harsh or rude. Sometimes I need to take a deep breath before I formulate a response

i just noticed a typo from earlier this afternoon & it's making me crazy! haha 
i wanna edit!
so yes, i do edit them, but often when they need editing, it's because i was in a rush & hit submit then had to dash, then i don't notice until i come back much later & can't edit. oh well, i hope people can forgive my typos

Yes. I edit for typos and sometimes to add a quick comment.
I do wish we could edit indefinitely. When I used to frequent WeddingBee I once wrote something careless in a post that offended some people. I apologized, but then people kept reading the old post and missing the apology! If I could have edited my post to clarify what I meant or just remove the thoughtless comment, I would have found the whole situation much less stressful!
That said, as a result I HAVE learned to be extra cautious before I click submit!
