DH is in the hospital recovering from a surgery so we don't have as much laundry piling up as usually. It's the first time in a long time I feel caught up with laundry. That being said...... tomorrow is diaper day and I'm sure we'll have more loads to do so I know it won't last long. But it's nice to have one day laundry free!

I have a laundry schedule that I follow every week so I just stick to that and it all seems to get done! We don't CD so there are no diapers to wash.

@Andrea: Unfortunately with my migraines I'm no good with schedules. I just do things as they need done, if my head feels up to it.

There was a short period of time when I did laundry every single Sunday from beginning to end (sort/wash/fold/put away). And then I got pregnant, and lazy.
This week I managed to wash and dry all of our linens. But I haven't folded or put them away yet. Clothes remain untouched. Hopefully getting to them in the next few days.

@artbee: Poor you. I schedule all of our household chores, or else they would never get done! But I still slack off, sometimes, if I am too tired after work/putting LO to bed.

@highwire: Towards the end of my pregnancy I just stopped doing laundry. The belly was in the way. Those were the days!

I do pretty well when it comes to washing and drying everything but I cannot keep up with the folding! I can spend a whole day folding clothes and still not finish. I hate folding laundry!

As of last night, I am caught up. My husband is such a gem. He pulled out all of the laundry and made piles. He even started a couple of loads and dumped the clean stuff on the bed to be folded (I don't mind folding).
We had a discussion last night about emptying the dishwasher vs. folding clothes. I would rather fold 10 loads of laundry than empty the dishwasher once. He would rather empty the dishwasher for the rest of his life than have to fold another piece of clothing. We're a perfect match.

@mediagirl: Monday - towels, Tuesday and Wednesday - my clothes and DH's clothes, Thursday - bedding, Friday - break, Sat and Sun - LO's clothes, sheets, towels.

I'm with @chopsuey119. Good at DOING the laundry (do it every 2-3 days). Not so good about folding it. Always feel like I'm folding.

My husband does the laundry and he has a strict schedule he follows. He folds too. I would love to say that it's because he's so wonderful but it's really cause he doesn't like the way I do his laundry and he'd rather just do it all. hahaha. I should try this with every chore!

Right now, after a week of obsessive washing in preparation for a move, yes, I feel caught up. It's the first time in over two years, though.

Isn't it amazing how much laundry two or three people make??? When I was single, I would do laundry for half a day on the weekend and always stayed caught up. Now, I feel like I will never actually be done, and we don't even have a little one! I'm with the others that folding and putting away is the worst part.

I do all our laundry on either Saturday or Sunday and try to get it all put away the same night (or at least the next night) and then I feel caught up. I hate the weeks when I can't do it in one day because it seems to drag on forever and usually results in at least one load being washed multiple times because it has sat wet in the dryer for too long. Hope to keep this system when baby #2 arrives in September but the added load of laundry may make that harder.

I have to do laundry 5-6 days a week, at one load a day, so I'm never caught up. Sometimes though I will do a marathon of washing/drying and then have my cleaning lady fold everything, and then I get a couple days off.

@MrsBlue: Ditto! I am currently in a big push to get the laundry caught up (I am almost 24 weeks, and figured I couldn't start too soon!), although it totally feels like Mission Impossible. The other drawback for me is that I am really OCD about how most items are folded, so the folding takes some time. DH tries to help, but I just end up refolding what he folded. (He just sort of flops things in halves or thirds and tosses them willy nilly into the drawers . . . he does at least categorize, but *jinkies*) He used to think my *problem* was amusing until we got a new dresser, and he started moving his things into the slightly smaller drawers (I took over the old dresser). Once he realized that he could fit more in if the items were folded *my* way, he came to me and sweetly asked for my OCD help.

Yep, I do it all on Friday when I get home from work and finish that night. I clean the same way. I like to have my weekends free for fun, not cleaning.

We're not even TTC yet, and I'm never caught up. This is the #1 thing that scares me about cloth diapering--I don't need even more laundry!

Hmm... I never feel behind on laundry. We do it (including cloth diapers) a couple times a week-- the cloth diapers are probably every 3rd day, but other than that, once a week or so. Dishes though-- that's another story, ha! I feel like with bottles and pump parts, that we're constantly doing dishes, there's always more stacking up.
