I definitely do! Partially because I am usually talking to much to study the menu when I go out and also because we try to stay as Paleo as possible when we go out so I like to know what I'm getting myself into before I go somewhere new.

Yep, I have to because DH is so picky!! If I can't find something he will eat on the menu, we don't go :[ I do a ridiculous amount of menu-drooling before a trip so I can find awesome foods for both of us!!

@betsyboop: Same-- check the menu and the reviews to see what's recommended or not.
@Bookworm: I should really do that before trips more-- DH can be so indecisive if we don't have a plan already, so it will take FOREVER to find a place to eat. If I go in with a plan, it would go a lot faster and we would probably have better meals. He's not that picky, just takes forever to decide.

@Foodnerd81: We have an indecisiveness problem too, so it really helps us! Especially in cities we aren't familiar with, the choices can be soo overwhelming!

I try to if it's a new place. That wing menu is making my mouth water! I don't think we have any wing places here.

I'm a vegetarian so I always make sure there's something I can eat there that isn't too "boring" (especially since we're in NYC and there are just so many options). i.e., I loooove me some pasta with red sauce, but if that's the only option, I'd rather go some place else. and so often the vegetarian entree is a total throw away dish, like "market vegetable plate" which just means they put random sides together. laaaaame!

What i hate the most is when the online menu doesnt match the one at the restaurant. I was so psyched for pear tortellini on vday and ended up with crappy eggplant parm instead.

Yes! I used menus to narrow down the options for our honeymoon. I lobbied for the resort we went to based off the awesome menu.

I do and it drives my husband nuts when I ask him what he plans on ordering...even if we aren't going until tomorrow night. He thinks I am unusual but apparently I'm not.
If I was going to that wing place I would get Bacon Ranch, Spicy Sweet and Sour BBQ, and Roasted Pineapple Jalapeño! That place sounds delicious!
