I definitely thought some of my friends were nuts before I became a parent. I definitely understand the bias now!

Hahaha yes! I see teh FB pictures and I'm sometimes like, really? You think that's the cutest? I've seen cuter...
(In my head, of course!!) When my nephew was born, every time someone told her how cute he was, she was like, really?? She thought he was cute, since he was hers, but could also see he was pretty skinny at the start

Ohhhhhhhh yes!!
A friend of ours' little one, erm how can I put this?? She's not the cutest, let's just say!..... but this friend thinks she's the most beautiful creature ever and posts pictures of her on Facebook regularly. She really, honestly, doesn't see it! And only today someone I know posted a picture of her child and she looks like a cabbage patch doll! DH and I recoiled when we saw it!
We are so mean..... we totally deserve an ugly one but, hopefully, if these examples are anything to go by, we wont realise ours is funny looking and will think she's the cutest little girl ever!!

I'm just going to say...yes.
But your LO really is quite adorable ; )

I do giggle sometimes at notsocute pictures of people's kids on facebook, but I do think kids tend to be cuter IRL. There are cute pictures but it's usually much cuter IRL.

Oh yes! I used to not get it - how do you not realize? - but now I at least understand.
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
Things like this make me fear that my lo isn't as cute as I think she is. But I guess my opinion is the only one that matters!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
I don't feel bad saying other kids aren't cute (not to the parents, obviously) when parents say their kids are the CUTEST. I mean, I think my son is pretty darn cute. But the cutest in the world? Probably not.

Yes because my baby IS the cutest and theirs weren't. ;-P

I know a few people who have babies that just are not cute. Of course those parents are the ones who brag about how beautiful their kids are. Bless their hearts.

All kids are super cute but we think our kid is the super cutest!
I think all parents are like that. Hehe.

haha this is a good thread. my friend has a GORGEOUS daughter and she said "i know everyone thinks their kid is the cutest.. but mine really is, isn't she?" and she totally is! haha

There are some ugly babies out there. I'll admit when LO was born he was not cute because he was so skinny.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
Oh my gosh yes, and then I wonder "huh is my daugther not at pretty as I think she is, because I think she is beautiful" but I guess I get enough compliments on her looks that I don't think I'm completely blinded with mother's love Oh well!

I think its normal to think your child is the cutest because you look at them through eyes of love
coconut / 8279 posts
at least DS is the cutest baby in my whole world
@Sweet T: "bless their hearts" hahaha
DH has no filter and many times has blurted out how awkward a friend's kid looks. I want to laugh for days but usually say something about it being inappropriate and untrue.

@Sweet T: Haha! That is right up there with "well isn't that niiiice." Southern women can tell you to go to hell and have you look forward to making the trip!

Oh my god, yes. There are some really unfortunate looking children out there yet their parents still think they're the cutest thing ever.
I know it makes us assholes but DH and I laughed our way through pages and pages of the 'Gerber Cutest Baby' contest. Some parents are absolutely delusional.
pomelo / 5321 posts
@KissMeCait: I had FB friends posting links for the Gerber contest to get votes for their babies. I laughed too!!
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@KissMeCait: That totally reminds me of Legally Blonde . . . "(she could use some mascara and some serious highlights,) but she's not completely unfortunate looking." hahahaha!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@Sweet T: Lol, I had some friends who were convinced their kid was going to win The Gap Casting call. They sent out so many emails asking for votes!

We can't all have the cutest babies. Mine are cute, but I know their not the cutest
clementine / 769 posts
@Mrsbells: I agree. It would be very sad if a parent felt they had a ugly child.
I think my baby looks handsome. He is a great combo of my husband and myself. People always seem to be drawn to him and always compliment him.
pineapple / 12526 posts
C is ridiculously adorable. I think there are kids AS cute as she is, but not cuter. Lol.
The issue is when you are telling people (with kids) that you think your child is cuter than theirs. I had someone do that to me when C was younger and I almost laughed in her face. Seriously delusional. I totally think it but Id never say it to the persons face. Thats just rude.
I know some people with kids that have faces only a mother could love.
coconut / 8681 posts
There are definitely some people who are just... wrong regarding how cute their kids are. But I totally understand thinking your baby is absolutely adorable because I'm definitely guilty!
nectarine / 2132 posts
yes. but it makes me happy when i see a not-so-cute baby picture on facebook and their mother bragging about how cute their kid is. it means that baby is really loved and is probably really happy.
clementine / 769 posts
@zippylef: lol true.
I wouldn't tell someone that my son is cuter than their child. That would cause a fight. Lol
pineapple / 12526 posts
@FancyGem: Yeah, I couldnt believe it when she told me that. She tried to play it off like it was a joke like "Oh, haha". No, bitch. I don't think so.
