On paper, I am a full-blown adult doing adult things. In reality, I often feel like I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm just faking my way through it all day by day.
Do you feel as responsible and adult-y as you seem?

Same!! Sometimes I'm good at faking it. Most times I'm just a deer in headlights.
When I'm relaxed at home with DH, I have the personality of a child. I don't think we ever get more mature, we just learn how to act in public!

NO and I HATE IT. The time it's the toughest for me is when I have issues at day care. When I talk to the director I feel a little like I'm going to the principal's office. I have to psych myself up that essentially she works for me and not vice versa.

Nope! Almost every night I have an "omg, I'm a mom of 2." Moment. I'm not mature enough for this!

Actually yes... This past year we got married, bought a house, adopted a puppy, got pregnant (baby arriving any day now!), I made a significant advancement in my career, and we are in the process of buying a car.

I have all the adult things: car, house, bills, job, pets, husband, baby.... still feel like a kid. I'm enjoying it while It lasts though because one day I will feel old and that will suck.

Sometimes I feel like an adult when making tough decisions but then other days I feel like I have no clue what I am doing

Nope. I feel kind of lost actually -- I don't know what I want to do with my life, I'm not really satisfied in my job but not sure what to do about it. I've been told being in your 20s can be uncertain like that so hopefully I can get it together somewhat in the next few years. But I hope I'm always a kid at heart

Not even close! I like fart jokes and drop the f-bomb regularly. I'm 29, own a beautiful home, have a husband, gorgeous little turd of a son, 2 dogs and an amazing job. Yet here I am and think 'is this adulthood?'

Not so much. We have been married 4 years, own our home, bought our first car together (I call it my "big girl" car), and adopted two cats, and we both have jobs we love. But I still don't really feel like an actual adult most days. It's sort of a surreal existence!

Yes. Although I think I've amended my idea of what an "adult" is since I was a teenager. Being an "adult" doesn't mean that you're boring and dull and can't laugh at inappropriate jokes. It just means that I feel totally in control of my own life and capable of taking care of myself.

@MamaMoose: haha, I feel the same at daycare. When the director emailed my husband and I about setting up an appointment to have a progress meeting we both were like "oh no, are we in trouble?!?!?!?!?!??!?!??!?!?!!!" and were so nervous for the meeting.

No I don't feel like a "real" adult! We also have all the things on the checklist but it still feels weird thinking about it.

No! At 34 I feel like I am not old enough for a baby, house, and all the responsibilities.

@Mrs Hedgehog: same. I'm 30+ and I like to think that my immaturity keeps me young.
