If they are watching kids during meal time, do you make sure and have a meal for them or food for them also?

I've ordered pizza before, but our sitter usually brings her own food over. I always let her know she's welcome to anything in the house, though.

I usually make dinner for the kids right when the sitter is arriving and tell her to help herself - I have no idea if she actually eats or not
I also tell her to help herself to any food/drinks we have
eta: Also I know she drink sweet tea and we don't drink it so I always buy it for her when she is coming over to watch the kids

We don't have a sitter, but if we did and they were covering mealtime I def would. Also, if it wasn't mealtime, i'd leave snacks.

I've babysat my niece at mealtime before and my sister did not leave food for me... Probably because we're family though?

The only sitter we ever had would never eat anything at our house, even though I offered... not sure why, but it looks like a lot of sitters don't like to do that? She usually took B to her place for part of the day, or sometimes brought her own lunch.
Oddly, if my mom babysits B, she also won't eat anything, even though she has no problem sitting us down to dinner when we visit her. Maybe he just keeps her too busy to sit down!

We have only had her come over once, and it was a little late so she said she had already ate. The next time we have her come it will be earlier and I told her that I would get a pizza for the two of them to have together

No but I always say help yourself to whatever we have! I figure if they are agreeing to babysit during a meal time then they should figure out their meal situation...

I was a sitter and nanny and I was always fed when I worked during dinner time

Whenever I have babysat, the parents have offered up the ability to eat anything that I find in the house. So I will either eat what the kids are eating or find something in the fridge or cabinet to snack on.

When I babysat, the parents sometimes would order pizza or something otherwise I was told to help myself - and I would!

We've only had family babysit at dinnertime, but I still pick up or make them food. I'd definitely pick something up for a non-family member.
