I usually eat them too fast to frost/ice them. I really want to try to frost them using this recipe: http://www.sweetsugarbelle.com/blog/2011/04/the-twenty-second-rule/

My mom makes the best sugar cookies in the world (they are like crack; when I bring them to work they're gone before you can blink) and she ices them w/a really easy recipe--powdered sugar, vanilla and water. It's similar to this recipe (I jut googled powdered sugar icing): http://www.tablespoon.com/recipes/powdered-sugar-icing-recipe/1/ (you can color w/food coloring to make it festive)

Oh you NEED to try this recipe for sugar cookie icing!

It dries nice and hard and shiny like royal icing, but tastes SO much better. If you find it too thick, just dip your knife in some water and it will spread MUCH better. I seriously will not use anything else for cookies now. Oh, and I use vanilla instead of almond, but you can use whatever extract you like obviously.
