I do ! Doesn't help, that I was watching this show that investigates missing persons earlier today and its all I can think about. Every noise has me jumping out of my skin!!! I'm paranoid now that I am going to get kidnapped... AHHH cannot wait til my hubby gets home!! At least 3 more hours!!!!!

Yes! DH left for a business trip and DD and I were home alone. I felt extra vulnerable since I'm pregnant and hormonal lol so we slept with the bedroom door locked

it's been a few years since I've been home alone at night! the
last time was probably high school, in 07! I would always do crazy things like watch a criminal minds marathon that night -__- not recommended!I can't imagine being home alone just me and LO though! extra scary

I hate being home alone. I'm not ashamed to say I keep the gun close on nights that my husband is away!

Yes! I have become more of a scaredy-cat as I have gotten older. I use to live for those scary movie thrills and haunted house frights in my late teens and early twenties. But not so much now, no thank you!

Not really. But I only watch fun things. And we have an alarm so I don't freak out.

Only if it gets late. My DH is usually home by 10 so if he is home by then I'm fine. But if he is out until midnight or so I tend to get freaked out. I close all the blinds and turn on the alarm haha.

If we lived in the burbs, I would be. We have a 24-hour doorman so I don't get scared being home alone but in our last place, our doorman went home at 5 and I hated being home alone!

I am not too worried about it most of the time. We have a dog which helps and I don't watch anything scary. We also have a fish tank and the fish manage to make all kinds of racket somehow so any strange noises get blamed on them which helps!

Sometimes I do. Then I remember I lived alone for 2.5 years and tell myself to pull it together.

It totally depends on the house. The house I grew up in was big, drafty, and in a rural area. Lots of things made weird noises at night and I felt very exposed. I HATED being alone in that house. ((Shudder)) My house now is in a very urban area, but I always feel very safe here. I set the alarm and snuggle in - even when I am home alone with LO.

Good lord yes. DH is away on business so every light and tv is on in my house.
My neighbors husband works nights so we usually text each other when DH is out, too. We are both the "OMG what was that noise?!" freaks.

Um, no. I lived by myself before he moved in. DH isn't some sharp shooting gunslinger, anyways.

@blackbird: hahaha! I always wonder what the hell my husband thinks he is going to do when he goes to investigate a sound.
I sometimes get freaked out when my husband works overnight shifts. But just a little spooked. Would randomly happen when I lived alone, too.

I'm home alone a lot with t when my husband works late and it doesn't bother me. But when my husband gets called in to the hospital in the middle of the night I can't go back to sleep until he gets back home. I get a little freaked out.

Nope, my husband often works at night so I'm used to it. Plus I lived alone for about 7 years before getting married. I also have 3 large dogs so that gives me comfort too. First, they'd have to get through a 150 pound German Shepard. Then an 80 pound lab and finally our small dog (60 pound blue heeler). I think I'm safe!

I wrote a post about this a few months ago when my husband had to travel for work. I wig the eff out!! I am so paranoid. Every noise makes me jump. i try to think of what i would use as a weapon. one time i was up perusing the registered sec offendors list to make sure none lived in my neughborhood. I get scared even when I am not alone. Oh and I used to be so addicted to true crime shows that I had to sleep with the light on. Thankfully we don't have cable anymore.

Absolutely, but having dogs that bark like holy hell at the slightest sound does help a lot.

My husband works nights, and my sleep quality has taken such a hit! We live out in the country, and I could scream for hours and no one would hear me
