On Thursdays DH doesn't get home until 9:30pm. Something about being in a dark house all alone still freaks me out. I'm not scared of ghosts or anything like that. Its more fear of someone breaking in....(I do realize its only 7:30 and that isn't very likely) lol

My husband used to work nights, so I'm used to being home alone. I don't get scared anymore.

When DH is on call, I sleep with the light on.

Yeah, sometimes... especially because we have huge windows that face a forest. It gets pretty scary. The dogs make it less scary, though

I live in a condo on a busy street, so I generally feel safe. But on the rare occasion that DH is gone, I'll sleep with the hall light on.

Overnight or when it's dark out.... dh has only been gone one wk tho for work.. he will be gone overnight next wknd tho so I might go to my rents

Having a dog makes a world of difference to me. If the dog isn't around, then yeah, I get freaked out and turn on the alarm and get nervous with every little noise.
