We've been doing a lot of errands on the weekends since we're doing home renovations. We don't have any (free) babysitters so the LO has to come along. I notice that we get a lot of stink eye because they probably think the LO is going to break something but she is generally very well behaved. There are so many kid haters in this world!

@Andrea: I think smaller (privately owned) shops have that policy. Big stores, probably not.

LO can't walk so the only issues we have are if she's fussy. I actually got the stink eye from a mother once when LO was being fussy. Thanks for the sympathy!

thats so annoying. We went to a diner the other day, and I actually had three girls say to eachother "I cant believe she would bring a BABY here. Its too loud. Thats really bad for brain develpoment, doesnt she know that?" We did get a stink eye from the guy at the table next to us, then Liv started flirting with him and was quiet, and he ended up smiling. Lets be real. It was a diner. Not a rock concert.

@LivsMama: Uh. I totally would have given those 3 girls a piece of my mind! I mean, how loud was it? We take LO to loud restaurants and she loves it. It's also great for us because the noise drowns out her squeals and screams!

@LivsMama: a diner? that is crazy. was this in the city? the last time i was in the city, the DH and I went to eat at Gari West Side and it was baby central. we were really surprised but thought that it meant people were cool with babies in most NYC restaurants if they would bring their kids to eat sushi.

@chopsuey119: it took everything in me to remain calm and not go off like I usually do. I didnt want to make a scene bc it was busy and these girls were like 22 tops, clearly with no kids. I did shoot them a nasty look and they got embarrassed. I wish Id said something though. Ive been known to snap back any time something like that happens.
@Andrea: no it was in Hoboken, we were there with friends. And it wasnt even that loud! Normal diner volume, and we were in the back room where it wasnt as noisy.
People just need to mind their effing business

I got the stink from both the cashier and the lady he was tending to when LO started fussing at the check out line at the supermarket. And it was marked the "family friendly" aisle too. I hate having to go back to that cashier but he is quicker than all the others.
I was a stink eye giver pre-kids when I see young kids getting on my flight. I suppose I deserve some payback.
