I never deal with this, but I've noticed that some local businesses treat Mrs. Bee better when she's wearing makeup! How about you?

I definitely get noticed more. The last time I went grocery shopping wearing makeup the manager stopped me for a chat and I got a discount at the fish counter.

Well, if I am wearing makeup, I am usually dressed professionally, so I think both are a factor.

I've never noticed it before, but when I do wear makeup I'm usually dressed up nicely, but I might get more head turns, but not treated differently.

@looch: same. It was especially noticeable when I went to the Coach outlet. I was fawned over while in work clothes and make up.

OUtfit over makeup, if I'm dressed in work professional clothes (make up happens as well) I get treated better than when I'm in jeans and a ponytail running errands on the weekend

Yes. I get treated way diff in shorts and a tee than when I'm wearing my work clothing (business casual)

Absolutely, I actuall haven't gone out sans makeup in ages, but I remember it making a huge difference when I was younger. Also, how you dress makes a big impact, being somewhat stylish and put together leads to much better treatment. I even notice a difference when I go out with Sawyer, we are treated differently when he is well put together,

I wouldn't know! I haven't worn makeup since my wedding. I guess I'll never know if I could be treated differently!

Yep, but I think that's mostly because I look younger than I am and if applied properly, makeup can help counteract that.

Maybe. But part of it is probably that I feel better in makeup and therefore act more friendly which then gets me treated better.

Probably, but I think it's even more true when I'm also dressed a bit better.

I only wear makeup on special occasions so I'm usually being treated nicely anyway... Honestly, no clue if it would make a difference on a day-to-day basis.

Not sure about businesses. But when I was waiting tables, I absolutely got tipped better when I had fairly heavy makeup on, especially if it was a table full of women.
