@.twist.: @grizz: just started Google if you win...A furry friend is mentioned. If I go further will I see him? Eek!?

  4. loveisstrange

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: nah, no rats involved.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: lol! Furry friend? I'm scared and intrigued!

  7. Mrs. Lemon-Lime

    wonderful pea / 17279 posts

@loveisstrange: well in that case wall me too please!

  8. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

Nope. I have too many real life issues for me to waste negative energy on the internet. I usually don't go back into threads that start getting pretty heated.

  9. Sapphiresun

    nectarine / 2220 posts

Nope. I spend a good chunk of my working life with personal insults being flung at me... people disagreeing with me on the internet is the least of my worries.

But really, I just stay away from controversial threads. A lot of times they're about American politics or something anyway, and I would never claim to have enough knowledge on the subject to argue intelligibly.

  10. looch

    wonderful pear / 26210 posts

Yeah, I do, is that a bad thing now?

  11. chopsuey

    hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts

    Nope, never!

  12. Kimberlybee

    grapefruit / 4997 posts

No, I try to just ignore the thread unless it's super entertaining! I know we should agree to disagree, but others are more passionate in a certain topic and it's okay too. YOLO! Hahaha I move on to topics that will help me during that stage for LO.

  13. MsLipGloss

    GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts

@looch: I do when folks rely on circular reasoning or *mob mentality* as the basis(es) for their response . . . and they just can't see why their *logic* doesn't track! I also can't stand when people ask for opinions, and when they don't get what they want, they get hyper defensive and either *pout* on the webs or ask for the thread to be deleted. Drama llamas!

Maybe it's because I expect more from the HB community? *shrug*

  14. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@MsLipGloss: I sort of feel like you're one of the moms on HB. Sometimes I get scared of saying stupid things and you finding me and scolding me! It keeps me in line.

  15. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

    No, that would be silly.

  16. mrsjazz

    coconut / 8234 posts

I have been annoyed but never worked up. There have been a few threads I had to walk away from for similar reasons as @meanies: that felt like ignorance and discrimination against others based on race or sexuality.

I love a good debate so it takes a lot to get me worked up

ETA: My phone changed @mrsbird: to @meanies. Oops!

  17. MsLipGloss

    GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts

@.twist.: I certainly don't feel that way! I tend to sticky things up when I get involved . . . I have called a few things out here and there . . . it's not always well-received (especially lately)!

  18. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

Nope, it's just the internet at the end of the day. I realllly don't get some people's point of views in the dramatic threads, but don't have the energy or desire to tell them all about it.

  19. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@MsLipGloss: haha! I love your responses. But I always think, OMG, Sheena, you don't know enough on the subject and mslipgloss will own you! Haha

  20. mrbee

    admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts

@MsLipGloss: Haha I get scared at times too! You kind of hulked out on me just a little bit recently for using the word "system" imprecisely (I'm sure I imagined it, but you seemed annoyed)... so today I've been rereading my posts over and over, to recheck my language!

  21. MsLipGloss

    GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts

@.twist.: usually after I post, I typically think *well hell, even if I *win* (although I don't look at it that way . . . but for the sake of the discussion!) . . . what is it exactly that I win? *scratcheshead*

    And I totally lol'd at *OMG Sheena . . . *

  22. MsLipGloss

    GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts

@mrbee: >.< Gah . . . I was legit asking what you meant by system . . . I just wanted to make sure I was reading it right!

ETA: I also just lol'd at *hulked*!

  23. MamaMoose

    GOLD / squash / 13464 posts

More than I'd like to admit.

  24. Mrs. Taco

    pear / 1639 posts

No...I like the 'controversial' threads though. I enjoy reading different peoples opinions, even if they vastly differ from mine.

@Kimberlybee: I'm worked up that you just used YOLO ...as a 9th grade teacher, I couldn't make it 5 mins without a student using that phrase 2 years ago.

    .....wheres your pencil? YOLO
.....how is your project coming? YOLO
.....put your cell phone away. YOLO miss, YOLO.

  25. Mrs. Champagne

    coconut / 8483 posts

@Mrs. Taco: hahaha oh no! that would be so annoying. my mom found out what YOLO meant last week and sent me a text that said #yolo

I don't usually get worked up! Just ignore

  26. californiadreams

    pomegranate / 3411 posts

no. i find threads where people get riled up entertaining to read. kind of like watching a soap opera. on weddingbee it happened so much that it got boring though.

the only time i got worked up was when i first learned of some parenting practices that i had never heard of before (and did not agree with)....and then i read a bunch of threads supporting it. so i got worked up then, though i feel like it was more of a reaction to the topic itself, rather than the threads, if that makes sense.

  27. mediagirl

Haha, this thread is getting me all worked up because I just want to yell, "liar!"

    My answer is yes.

  28. MsLipGloss

    GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts

    @mediagirl: I'm with you. I don't buy it for a second!

ETA: with a couple of notable exceptions.

  29. blackbird

    I'm not above getting agitated

    Sometimes

  31. Anagram

    eggplant / 11716 posts

Worked up, no. But sometimes I feel sorry for certain posters who will get picked on a little in a particular thread. But that's because I liken the internet to real life (and I think most people don't). Just like in real life, there are people I disagree with or don't understand or even kind of dislike, but I just choose not to out any energy into my negative feelings towards them.

Unless they directly affect me, that is-- which so far isn't the case on the internet.

Edit: maybe for mslipgloss I should say,,, on a scale of 1-10, HB stuff generally ranks as a two or "minor annoyance".

  32. heartonastring

    pomegranate / 3895 posts

Sometimes, yes. When I do I usually refrain from posting though.

  33. heartonastring

    @mediagirl: hahahahaha! Me too!

  34. Reese

    pomegranate / 3521 posts

    @Mrs. Taco: Hahahaha. How aggravating!

I agree - I sort of *enjoy* it... never to the point that it bothers me once logging off

  35. brownie

    grapefruit / 4110 posts

Sometimes. There are some responses that have greatly hurt because they felt very personal. Sometimes I log into other sites because there is drama that I am not invested in.

  36. mrs. bird

    bananas / 9628 posts

@mrsjazz: hahahahaha, just call me 'meanies' from now on!

  37. Periwinkle

    pear / 1879 posts

Not usually. If something irritates me (and I don't have a strong opinion or prefer not to get involved), I just move on to another thread.

Some threads gets the eye roll but I respect each user's differences.

  38. cascademom

    coconut / 8861 posts

I roll my eyes and avoid the thread.

  39. delight

I'm worked up reading this thread because I want to know what this "if you win" quote is!
