@Mrs. Blue: hehe. =) I must have missed all the threads on HB about all Third World Problems the many people sick of "first world problems" must be having like:
"My child is dying from unsafe drinking water. The nearest village doctor is 25 miles away and I don't own a car or have shoes. What to do?"
or
"My husband was killed yesterday in our country's civil war and today I'm sleeping in a bunker with 25 other people and we only have 1 lb of rice to split between the 25 of us for the foreseeable future. How should I handle this?"

You guys... if you want to know the saying, just google "fighting on the internet is like...." You will probably regret it, as I did. It's in pretty poor taste which is why no one wants to just copy and paste it. But whatevs. Don't get worked up LOL
pomelo / 5509 posts
@MamaMoose: Haha, OK, I was one of the people who said I sometimes eye roll over "first world problems", but you make a good point about ALL the problems on here being "first world problems." So I guess maybe it's levels of first world problems and everyone has a different perspective on them! For example, I may eye roll over a thread where someone is like (totally hypothetical example) "OMG DH IS SO UNREASONABLE BECAUSE HE WON'T LET ME BUY A $400 CAR SEAT, WTF!?!?!?" And I'm all, "Sad panda because we don't even have a baby yet because we're afraid we can't afford it and if we did have a baby we'd be buying everything second-hand." Well, not a car seat, but you know what I mean.
That's my own perspective though, and your post made me think about it.

@IRunForFun: @MamaMoose: Yes, its a perspective thing for me too. Some days I am scrambling to find enough formula so that one of my patients doesn't have to try to stretch her baby's bottles with extra water, and then later I read (to use @IRunForFun's example) a $400 carseat post.
And I am also totally guilty of posting them as well, so I admit it was probably in poor taste for me to say that

I totally get annoyed with certain threads/users, but generally I try not to respond to things when I'm too worked up. I agree that sometimes things are TOO harmonious on this site, but given that the internet can be such a cesspool of drama, cattiness and general b.s., I actually prefer the civility. It's a breath of fresh air!
Now that the site is a few years old, it's only natural that people are more "comfortable" and thus, more willing to go head to head on certain topics. And of course there are users whose relationships with each over have soured. For me, the users I dislike the most are the ones who want so desperately to be "right" that they'll fight annoyingly hard to make their point.

I think we are all LUCKY to be guilty that we have these 3rd world 'problems' to complain about. In general things are harmonious here and I appreciate that. If I wanted drama if go somewhere else.

@mamimami: Yeah, I seriously regretted googling it. Extremely poor taste.

@Smurfette: it was someone I don't know and it has become a joke at our place.... Anytime I make a mistake "it must be because Im a bad mom." Maybe dh and I are just twisted, haha.
There are some issues I feel strongly about but I no longer take things too personally.

If a post causes me to raise my eyebrows, I click away. Most of my time is spent silently willing all the baby dust in the history of ever for the POAS and IF ladies anyway. Babies for everyone!
The pictures on this thread are hilarious!
