Our friends are having a 5-year anniversary vow-renewal party of some sort (details aren't clear) and I'm wondering if a gift is the norm?

I have no idea but a bottle of wine is probably a safe choice! Probably put the gift in scale with how lavish the party is. If it seems like they are catering and having music and throwing a real shin dig - maybe something pricier as a thanks for being invited. But I'd steer clear of house gifts that would be on a first wedding's registry

Never been, but I'd give something small. Maybe something personalized or monogram?
