Hi Bees,
I am currently planning LO's first birthday party and will be giving goody bags to the children that attend. There will also be 5 babies attending that are 8 to 12 months old. Do I also make them a goody bag? And if so any suggestions on the type of favors?

I haven't hosted a party yet, but when we went to one when LO was only a couple of months the parents gave "her" a good bag with just a few treats for me and DH, fun size candies and stuff. It wasn't necessary but I did like my candy.
At a year old I would think LOs might start to appreciate it, just little things like stickers?

For that age group, pouches, take and toss cups are good ideas! Or books!

for DD's birthday (she's 3), I gave the babies under 1 who attended a board book - they're really inexpensive on Amazon, and were a big hit.

Board books, goldfish, pouches, little people brand toys (animals, cars, etc).

For my son's first birthday, we had a range of kids from under a year to six years old. I got finger puppets and tied them around bubble wands with some ribbon. (I had to use some scotch tape too so they wouldn't slide off.) It looked pretty cute and wasn't too expensive.

Yes, I always have something for babies...puffs, pouch, mini book or candy for the parents.

@Mrs.Waffles: love the board book idea. Pantone has some really awesome color ones, I gift them a bunch.I bought like 10 to have on hand for one or two year olds birthdays, and no one has had them yet.

I did for DS. We had a safari theme, so I bought the babies a rubber ducky shaped in safari animals. For the older kids, I gave them animal crackers (packaged in a pretty box).
I've been to a couple other 1st bday parties and one mom gave away a blow up fish and some gold fishes for her under water theme.

I did goodie bags for the babies at DS's first birthday - I put mini board books, bubbles, and balls.

@CakeLady: how much were the mini board books? I really want to gift books for dd 1st but the cheapest I've found is ~$3. That adds up for 11 kids! I only want to spend $1-2 per kid.

@regberadaisy: I think a 3 pack was about $4.50, I just broke them open and did one per kid, same with the balls. I think I spent about $3/kid between the balls, books and bubbles (which were 3/$1 in the Target $1 area). We only had 6 kids though.

We just came through birthday season with my mama group, and here is what people did:
- Two people sent us home with helium balloons as favors.
- One person had a small goody bag with some simple snacks and a maraca. This was our favorite, I think!
- One person sent a goody bag with puffy stickers and tiny finger puppets. The finger puppets were okay, but the stickers got thrown away.
- We sent every kid/baby home with a rainbow pinwheel. I liked the simplicity of it, and the kids were all fascinated.
- One person did some dollar-store beach gear and board books.
- Someone did balls for the kids and candy for the adults.I would go pretty simple-- enough to include the littlest kids, while realizing that at that age they mostly don't care, and it'll probably end up in the trash. Anything edible would be great, and anything that is a decent toy that will actually get played with!

We did a nautical theme and gave bath toys as favors for the babies

@Mrs.Waffles: For my son's 1st birthday we are doing truck board books (from the $1 bin at Target), bubbles (each is $0.33 because they came 3/pack for $1) and a slap bracelet because that's his favorite toy right now
I just got those off Amazon and they were like $6 for 12 or something fairly inexpensive like that.
