I tried giving my baby Poly-Vi-Sol a few times but she always spits it out...even when I mix with breast milk.
Do you give your breast fed baby an iron supplement?

I never did. When she started eating solids we aimed for iron rich foods. They did a blood test at 9 months and she had good iron but I've always had really high blood iron too.

Our Pedi just 'prescribed' it for when we start transitioning to milk at 11.5 months.

We did baby vitamins (with iron included) because I breastfed and am usually anemic.

The doctor recommended them after 6 months but we never did it. It is based on early research and ismt always necessary. She brought it up at his one year appointment and I said he had a blood test and wasn't anemic. If he had symptoms I would. Otherwise I recommend to my family not to.
