Nope! Last 2 years we got the kind that you can add a generic message to the back

Yes, much to my annoyance since that's what I'm working on now. I always appreciate getting a handwritten note, so I always add one to our cards.

this will be our first year sending out cards... I might... not sure!

Sometimes, depends on the card. This year I am because I made Chanukah cards. I could have printed a generic happy holiday message on the back of them ( they are postcards), but I just feel better hand writing so I can personalize holidays.

@Mrs. Blue: I always have a sense of annoyance about it, too, but I keep doing it! It seems like a dying practice so I might stop soon. I don't even know if people appreciate the effort. Sad.

I do. Some people, like a great-aunt and my great-grandma, even get a full blown letter with their card!

I usually do, but since most people on our Christmas list will get thank you'd from my baby showers about a month before Christmas I will probably slack this year.

It's such a pet peeve of mine to get holiday cards without a written message. What's the point of sending me some generic card? I feel like the whole point of sending cards is to say hi, give a little update and wish you a happy holiday.

Yes, any card (like holiday, or thank-you) has the next closest thing to a novel for a personal message.
I don't see the point otherwise!

Yes, always! I'm with @beachmama on this... if I can't even think of one sentence to say to someone, then they don't need to be on my card list.
And receiving a card that doesn't even have a hand-signed name on it always bugs me...

@BeachMama: @Beebug: @alie: None of my friends write anything anymore so I don't know why I bother? I blame photo cards!

@alie: Eeeeeeeh. I wanna be mean, it is less work.

Nope - and no one writes any on the ones they send to us either!

@Andrea: I do think people appreciate it, even if we never hear that from them! It's just nice to know someone wanted to add at least a couple of personal lines to you. But, I agree, it's a dying tradition probably.
